Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Any leaders have some "training"?

apparently any leader (level unknown) with someone being laid off needs to attend a required "training" that basically is just CYA for the org to say they did it and prepared leaders to handle it. From what ive heard, this happens a few days before the actual date...

if any PL's get invited to this, we'll know its happening within a couple of days.

@1htx+1oWR2Sjg Two weeks notice is something an employer needs to earn, not taken for granted.

Managers don't do any work.. they just bicker and try to take credit from others. Really.. I call on any manager tonpost what they really do... Nothing!

Knowing they’re going to this “training” is a long-shot. I don’t know a single manager that informs their team of their whereabouts or schedule. Most days, I don’t even know if my manager is working or off. They never reply to IMs or calls. If they’re sitting next to me, I wouldn’t know if they were on a training call. Their schedule isn’t made known to us.

It’s not training on how to conduct a layoff. It’s training on how to handle it when an employee gets laid off..

The employee will still get the mass notification and the leader just has talking points

Yeah. I've been through the training. It was just watching a few scenes from the movie Up in the Air where George Clooney teaches Anna Kendrick how to fire people.

Yes this has happened in prior layoffs. Is this layoff too big for that? Too big to handle on an individual basis?
