Thread regarding ViacomCBS layoffs

More layoffs to come tomorrow?

Does anyone have insight into the dates of the next layoffs? Per the 3 phase layoff plan through September - I’m thinking layoffs will follow the main payroll schedule. Every 2 weeks. Last two major layoffs have happened during a pay week.

@2oej+1ucoqefU The notification to contractors did start yesterday (8/27). It is a longer process as they have to be told via their agencies. May will be leaving on 9/30 and others are being told they will leave on or before 12/31.

The layoff of contractors doesn't impact the number of FTEs being laid off. It's two separate workstreams. I expect the 9/24 layoffs to be bigger than 8/13.

To the person who said laying off contractors saved FTEs. You are 💯 wrong

Walk the plank. Every business day has its cast. Should have a show about this.

Nothing came in today regarding contractor layoffs . Are we still expecting? Or is it going to be FTE layoffs on 24th?

@1wzm+1ucoqefU: I read in another thread that contractor count will not impact the 2000, that is still 2000 FTEs

Contractors will be impacted throughout the end of the year. It depends on when the contracts are up and the termination rights. Keep in mind contractors were reduced to save headcount. Imagine what they cuts would have been without contractors going.

I wouldn't put it past them that they leaked the wrong date of 09/24/2024 on purpose to mislead everyone, so on layoff day everyone is taken by surprise.

The rumored date (almost confirmed date) is Sept 24. If you had just had a look back in on previous posts you will have seen it mentioned time and time again. Tomorrow has never been mentioned and nothing is happening tomorrow.
