From the looks of it, they're not done with layoffs just yet. I'm starting to wonder if it'll ever end...or if they'll just continue getting rid of most of us one by one...

@3nyo+14Go8ZVk that's right, so now we know 452 employees will remain, with an average salary of $ 134,000.

@2vre+14Go8ZVk
But the over paid, over titled visa holders will remain ! - you forgot that part
Im ok if he does that. Just pay me my severance dang it ! (Its not like im going to tell you i got another job before you do).
I expect the furlough language to transition to layoff language around the time of earnings call.
We can almost write the message now.
“Reluctantly and with a heavy heart I am in the unenviable position of having to inform furloughed staff members that they will not be returning as we had earlier dared to hope.”
@1itm+14Go8ZVk Gossip!? Roger! So, that's what it's called these days? Fine, then there was lots of "gossiping" going on.
layoffs and furloughs are just an excuse.
Sabre's got enough coin in the bank for zero sales for at least 1-2 years.
this is typical SM greed and the virus is just an excuse. Wake up people.
to @jbi - sorry you are right, not sensitive to the COVID-19 issue, I apologize to anyone offended! I am sorry that so many of my friends and colleagues are being let go, furloughed, etc. and that a multitude of Knowledge and experience is leaving. However, my comment was to point out that we are just pawns in the company's game. It will continue as long as we have executives that believe that the only way to cut costs is to get rid of workers! Namaste and blessing to all those affected.
@1itm+14Go8ZVk
Does it rub you the wrong way TK? Maybe you shouldn’t have been “bringing it up” with the hired help.
@ @1itm+14Go8ZVk
Because it’s entertaining.
Why bring up old gossip at a time like this?
I happened to walk through the hallway behind the cafeteria going to the mailroom. I saw TK “placing an order” with the cafeteria lady. M
@1wmr+14Go8ZVk But there was a XTK news story that TK spent too much time in the cafeteria. WTF
To Jbi Congrats on surviving 20 years of layoffs during your 30 year career. Amazing that you could even remotely think that these layoffs are like the rest. Over a third of employees furloughed and you can compare?
Having survived 20 straight years of layoffs in 30 years at Sabre I can tell you, it ain't done yet!
Cuts are all SM knows. Even in "good" years.
You can certainly bet the farm that is what he sticks to in bad times.
The culture at Sabre has turned so sickening since TK left.
how on earth could you not see that coming ?
layoffs are part of day-to-day business.
VPs typically have work contracts. Unless there is language about reductions or something similar they are reasonably protected unlike other employment at will staff.
Personally I find branding this lay-off as a furlough to be immoral, but if we believe then that is on us.
Eventually they have to make cuts in the senior manager ranks. There’s absolutely no justification for hanging on to a 100 plus VPs/Senior VPs.
Don't hold your breath on being done any time soon.
