Have been aggressively looking since July. no real jobs out there. Not sure what tge strategy is behind the fake job posting ms, anyone know?

Just sending out resumes does not work in this market. I know from experience. You can send out 14,000,605 resumes with no luck.
As others have said, you must network. It is the only way.

53 year old male here. Looking for 18 months after 27 years in IT.
I never found anything IT related that paid IT salary. Now driving shuttles at the airport. At least I am being kept busy and getting a small paycheck.
Boy do I miss the paid vacation and health insurance.

It like push polling. make it seem like economy is stronger than it is to shape your opinion.

resume harvesting
Twisted incentives
Remember also that the labor statistics that the federal reserve uses is partially based on job openings. Which is horribly inaccurate.
The unemployment rate is artificially low.
You need to use your network. Colleagues who can refer you in present a much better chance at getting an interview. Priority will always be given to internals, but an inside track helps when a company is looking for new blood...
