I left GM 2 years ago and after reading this news, my choice was further validated. Proud of my decision. Auto industry is dying. Leave while you can.

It means they are going to pu--yfoot around this. Leaving it up to "people leaders" will lead to very intense resentment as some groups will be called to work in office while other people are not.
Also, look forward to special cases, favorites and nepotism beneficiaries who are exempted to work in office while the rest of the group (aka the workhorses) will have to report.
More favoritism, resentment and gaslighting. Remember to "be inclusive" and "win with integrity". Soon they will be saying, "you are lucky to have a job so shut up."
