Having a hard time finding better option in retail

Perhaps others are luckier, but I've been trying for a long time to find a better opportunity in retail and without success. It all depends on the priorities. Some companies offer higher pay, but people say that the stress is much higher there (if that is even possible). My conclusion is that the only way to find a job where I will be more valued in every sense, is to actually leave retail?

What will you provide to the employer? What kind of problem can you solve for them? What kind of challenges do you want to help them with? Try focusing on that...

I got out of retail by taking a job at a call center... I was good at that & did that for YEARS. Don't get me wrong, that is not & was NEVER a dream job for me, but retail & call center have a lot in common- greeting people, answering questions, being patient with them, etc

You could also look into hospitality because there might still be a huge need there too

YOU really have to sell yourself to a potential employer & what YOU can do for THEM (not the other way around)

If you want to get out of retail, you might have to take what might look like a cr---y job, and use it as a stepping stone to a less cr---y job... you don't have to stay there forever! I've done that, and now that I'm laid off, I can chill for a while because I'm not broke & I've lived frugally for a really long time.. there is no perfect job

You have to provide some value if you want an employer to value you.

Valued in every sense? That is not an employers job..you work..they pay you. Stress comes with life. Rather then post here talk with a career counselor. Maybe you need interviewing help.
