Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Not giving opinions on anything at work

Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that it is not wise to express opinions at SF. Although employees should be encouraged to give their opinions regarding relevant topics for the company, this is not the case here.
My intentions were good because I still care about my job and this place, but instead I was targeted as a troublemaker. I am writing this as an advice for caution.

SF was a great place to work. Ed Rust was in with his troops and highly respected. If we say conservatively, 45% are not happy in the company leadership at all levels needs to seriously look in the mirror and take responsibility for a failing grade. Money does not create value, values create wealth. Unfortunately today generally speaking some think titles etc create wealth but lost the values associated with wealth.

You were the one that said they had options. I am asking besides working for the man what are their options? Looks like none to me and you were sadly mistaken or just leading them on.

So just leaving your pension is being a smart one is it ? People here crying are the ones that deal with super high turnover and taking care of our customers, but that isn’t you, so life is good right?

The smart ones left. The ones on here crying, well they really don’t have any options now do they?

I love all the kool-aid drinkers saying people don’t have any options outside of State Farm. Claims has had the biggest turnover in SF history, you must not get out of your cubicle working those important spreadsheets do you?

Really-what options do you have besides just working for the SF man?

@2dtg. Now there's a fine example of SF diversity and inclusion practices. "You have no option." Really! Yes we the people do. This isn't China. Drive within your headlights.

You have no options. Your lack of talent and initiative makes you a lifer at the Farm. Their rules, you have no choice or options. You made your choice live with it.

You are compensated in life by how easy you are to replace.

Keep this in mind wherever you end up in life next. Life doesn’t stop at an insurance call center. Stay there too long and you’ll be labeled a tax bracket loser.

Over-hired in Property Complex? I saw 60 calls on hold with 30 minutes on hold time estimated, plus around 19k tasks waiting to be worked today. I’ve seen it worse some days recently too. If we’re considered overstaffed, then whatever, but don’t make me work OT after January 1st as-----s!

No property complex demand pool has over hired. Every demand -except A- will not be able to hire enough people to fix Yi’s career ending failure.
The reason why you’re getting fired is because your a d-mb a-s.

The OP describes it as “pillow talk”. Spouse describes it as abuse.

There's you answer @1vek gave. If you offer your opinion about anything they don't like, they will micromanage you to death right out the door. Seen that happen many many times. SF is full of politicians.

OP-a lot of,people, including me offer opinions, few are labeled as troublemakers. There is a lot more to the story than you are sharing. This is not the site if you are looking for sympathy.

Currently employee for 5 years my new manager in a different department from where I started never liked me and was determined to have me fired after 2 failed attempts appears she might be successful although I think her evidence is iffy at best. Supposedly they over hired in my department and now finding any reason to terminate employees. Great company just steer clear from auto claims property complex department .
