Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

Laying myself off. Thank you Kate!

I just got rich enough to quit the rat race at 41. Time to have a long hard think about how I'll enjoy the rest of my years. I feel like a new man.

Thank you Kate! Extremely inspiring leadership and vision. As you said, when going through transformation, 1/3 are all-in and enthusiastic, 1/3 are strongly against, and the last 1/3 could go either way. You clearly pushed the indecisive ones the right way getting most of the company behind your vision. The 1/3 who will never be happy are here on this board, and probably mostly gone out the door by now. What's left is an innovative, reinvigorated company with a huge infrastructure asset in the perfect time to become a behemoth in the networking space.

And thank you Jeff Storey, even though you were a terrible CEO, for almost destroying this company and allowing me to load up on dirt cheap shares over the past year. Without you, none of this would have been possible.

"I have a professional designation"

Lol. Sounds like a PMP to me. Useless.
Good thing you retired. One less project management id--t in the company.

LOL, the jealousy is apparent. You have no idea what my finances are. I'm set for life, with very minimal risk. And unlike your ancient, useless copper skills, my skills are versatile, I have a professional designation and I'll be able to work whenever I want. But believe me, I won't want to. There's too much fun stuff to do.

Thanks again Kate and Chris! Amazing leaders

The saltiness here warms my heart. Yes, I had a boatload of shares (in fact, my initial buys were much higher but I loaded the boat sub-$2). And more importantly, a boatload of cheap options that suddenly became not so cheap. If you think a 500% gain in the stock is nice, try several thousand percent in my options.

After Satish and Dave got on board, it became very apparent to me that big things were brewing. After the TSA pushed out the debt, it became very apparent that there was plenty of runway to execute. Nothing is for sure, but I identified a life-changing opportunity and I took it.

For those who think that I'll run out of money, please save yourself the jealousy. I live a relatively simple life so a few million dollars is plenty. In fact, odds are it'll only get bigger as my investment earnings outpace my spend.

Admit you were wrong. Just because your job no longer matters to Lumen, doesn't mean Lumen isn't going to survive and thrive. That's what a transformation is - includes transformation of personnel. Clearly Kate has done an amazing job cutting out the non-performers.

Even he knows the financials of this company cant sustain its current trading levels. This is a legit 2-3 dollar stock with the announced growth on the horizon. The only reason its over 5 is because the reddit traders expect it to jump another 5 dollars in a week.

$5B with a $3.3B estimated capex, is no big growth there.

Goff is selling because he's retired/kicked out the door and is no longer required to hold onto it.

Hmmm...if Stacey believed a takeover was imminent, would he have sold so much stock at this run-up?

Stacey Goff just sold almost $3 million worth of shares total, in 2 separate transactions. Go to https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/lumn/sec-filings and look at the two latest Form 144 filings. 2.3 million in 1, other one $495,000 .

seems like Kate Johnson has about 7 million shares, Ashley Haynes Gaspar has about 1.3 million.

P7 (principal engineer and directors) and up got cash quarterly instead of stock the last two years, and the "performance based" stock grants were zeroed out because the performance of the company has been awful.
that showed the faith of the SLT in the stock price. they didn't have any, so gave out cash to try to get people to stay.

Directors and above got minimum $52-87k in RSus so it is possible although I thought the last 2 years they paid out LTI in cash instead of RSUs

I put a couple thousand into it at .99, dumped it today at 7.39
Don’t care if it goes higher, this made up for the bonuses they took from me. Lol

It's easy to quit at 41 when you still live at your Mom and Dads

Who in their right minds would have invested 100k in Lumen at $1 a few weeks ago and on the verge of bankruptcy. Unless they already had major money to play with. A couple grand I can see as a lottery play. But major money? Ask those people who are still stuck at over 11 for years.
I call bs.

LOL....so true. You wonder what he thinks is retirement money. What did he have 100k shares @ $1? And even then its not enough to retire on at 41. Get back to work.

Why? The Lumen stock soared to 6.42.
Possible 10.00 by end of the day.
