Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Claims pendulum swing...... Good luck hanging onto the rope this time!

Back in the day a fire company claim rep would handle claims in their assigned area. Whether it was property, boat or casualty. Then it was just property or boat, then property. By 2012 some genius in Bloomington thought it'd be a GREAT idea to have our claims personnel specialize HCCS & WCCS. Well we spent millions on "Migration" only to figure out that it was a STUPID idea. Some mo–n became a claim manager over it (yes, I know who) even though his project was an abject failure.

Then we move back to handling all property claims in our assigned area (where we are now) and that isn't good enough. From what I understand, the claims ninja (YI) himself has ordered from on high that now ALL CLAIMS PERSONNEL ARE INTERCHANGEABLE (can you hear the echo from the pronouncement?)!!

You'll hear about "Plug n Play" in the next few days (if you haven't already). Not only will you be responsible for knowing your job, but EVERYONE else's in claims as well. Doesn't matter if you've worked auto or fire for 100% of your career. Some genius in exec decides to cut 35% of the workforce (in fire claims) to save salary, then they will plug it with incompetents (no offense, just a reality) to stop gap. Screw customer service! How someone this incompetent can make SVP is beyond me. Guy MUST know where Tippy has buried the bodies.

SF is like well done prime rib, it's like lumpy green milk, it's like fuzz growing off of food in the refrigerator, it's like going into a bathroom that has graffiti all over it and turns your stomach, it's like walking into a house where a person has been dead for a week ...... it's a very unhealthy and toxic environment loaded with narcissistic people who can talk BS but in reality can't even change oil in a car or replace a light switch.

They now have you in states where they want you for labor laws. A snap of a finger and it's done. It took time in other states but now it's just paperwork.

Spend 7.45 hrs a day behind a screen and behind a screen for your personal life, you will go brain dead and physically ill. FACTS! K–l yourself for them? Nah, I'll pass.

Surely you jest. Training? What's that? You mean where trainers who have never worked an auto claim or fire claim teach you how to do so?

@1ahm, the fact that people refer to the current CEO by his last name and make a sound like they are spitting out something bad vs referring to the former CEO by Mr., or his first name SPEAKS VOLUMES.

I haven’t worked my own job in over half of a year. They keep giving a projected end date only to pull the rug out from under at the very last minute. But if you dare object it is an “Automatic Resignation” which is a BS way of saying “You’re fired for having the audacity to want to do your actual job.” R3markable!

What did you expect with an accountant running the company? Their instinct is to look at dollars and cents. Employees are rented assets, or expenses. This approach accelerates declines in companies.

But really, is there anything worse than injury? Injury is at the bottom on the septic tank. Everywhere else is sh|try, sure, but injury is the worst.

This is just their way of avoiding paying severance. When they know they don’t need you anymore and want to get rid of you to save money, instead of offering a buyout(Like most decent companies that are downsizing) , they put you some place where are you will be miserable and quit. Saves them a ton of money but destroys the morale and culture of the entire company.

From what I've been told it is EVERYONE in claims. Reinspectors could be called on to perform a CA job, Fire Trainers could work auto BI etc. No boundaries, no "specialties per company" just one big ol' happy claims force doing whatever the asshats in Bloomington need them to do at the drop of a hat because they are too incompetent to forecast personnel needs.
