Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Don’t give a notice if you are leaving the company

If you’re leaving, the company, do not give a two week notice and think you’re being nice and doing the right thing the company will use it against you and cut you off earlier than you’re supposed to with benefits and not send you cobra info

“ so cuz the company is awful that means you should sc--w over your manager and the rest of the team that needs the job? huh, pot calling kettle much.....”

I never make employment decisions based on how it might affect coworkers or managers. I make these decisions based on how it affects my work life and my financial position. Coworkers make no effort to affect my compensation, why should I include their concerns in my employment decisions?

@1tux+1lM0rUbY if someone gets an opportunity you are implying they owe at least a 2 weeks notice to BBB? Anyone left owes them nothing. Who knows, that manager and rest of the team could very well leave any day. This is one of the most a$sinine comments I have seen here. If someone gets an opportunity and leaves with days notice they are doing what is best for them and their family. As they should.

You have to do what’s right for you. Knowing they may not honor your 2 weeks weigh if giving notice works for you financially or not. Loyalty was out the window in Sept.

If and when you are let go, keep in mind that cobra paperwork will come to you in about 3 weeks after let go, but your better off looking at other options. Being layed off recently, the price was quoted between $600 to $700. Let that sink in for a minute.
So if you are hanging on for any reason, that is the big kick you in the mouth at the end of the tunnel!! Good luck to everyone.

COBRA is not BB&B's to offer or not. It is part of the government, and if not "offered" it is a legal issue. And, as someone else pointed out, your story is not consistent with my reality.

They are doing anything to make people quit to get out of paying them.
