Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

I would not recommend that anyone put in extra hours to get the extra work done

The workload is just spread out across whoever is left and it will be expected to be completed. There will be no extra compensation given, just more stress and aggro.

I would not recommend that anyone put in extra hours to get the extra work done, if it's not done it's not done. Doing so will mean that the powers that be will expect you to continue putting in free extra hours and will not provide further resources to share the workload.

Sound advice, @kdm+1ti3PTjC.

Omg, anyone notice the morale now? You can cut it with a kn--e it’s so thick.

For the remaining staff, use your PTO time. Don’t carry over anything.

Things are quickly falling apart. Lay off lists are being made. Those remaining should only put in the hours they are paid for. If you think there is any loyalty or appreciation from the company you are very wrong. Let them wallow in the mess they have created. Brokers are already catching on to the chaos and I expect renewals to start going to competition.

ID: @6uwj+1tiLqR6T; I do know STI average bonus percentages paid next year but accounted for this year have been cut. They’ll play with the ratings assumptions so fewer are eligible for full bonus. And it will be sold as “you still got a good bonus”. That’s how they play the game, as it were.

This is ridiculous. Decisions on bonuses for NEXT YEAR have not been made yet.

Here’s The best part. Bonuses are expected to be lower than last year on average. So you’re likely going to make less and be expected to work more. This nugget they’ve tried to keep quiet, because after all, how can morale get any worse?

@1tsf+1tiLqR6T That is true...unless you are an adjuster. Claims adjusters get blamed for everything that does or doesn't happen in a claim file. Last year we got blamed for not meeting Performance Guaranteed Account requirements that were caused because of all the problems when Accenture and the ServiceNow Bot took over claims set up, benefit building, treasury wire payments, etc. Nothing but problem after problem after problem since January 2022. All in my department warned and warned management that we were not going to meet service level agreements because of all of that, plus being short-staffed, and were told "We will take that into consideration at review time." Do you think they did?? Nope. Any adjuster whose claims were called out by the Policyholder for not meeting the required service level agreements got royally scr#$D at review time this last February. Even with backup supporting the singled-out adjuster's statements. Those of us not quite eligible for VERP that will be left after half of our department leaves this month, are now looking elsewhere because we don't want a repeat of the same review next February.

Yes, I agree. Poor planning on managements part does not constitute an emergency on your part. If a deadline is missed due to lack of staff, then it is missed. Nothing can be done about it.

I 100% agree. Let’s not be cucks by not taking on more load.

I agree. The more you know the more work you would be given with no extra compensation. Log in and out as scheduled.
