Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Is Chuck quitting next week or the week after?

Seeing all these posts and rumors in the company

If so good riddance!! Worst tech leader ever!

Joining Cisco was the biggest mistake of my career, and a complete waste of my time.

if and a big IF chucky announces at Cisco beat, you can guarantee the comments will be turned off because besides the usual BS comments there will be far more people saying good riddance!

CR is chair of the board. Coincidentally it’s the same board that can/should fire him. But they’re totally captured and nobody wants to rock the boat.

If you’re a stockholder, please do not retain the board members at the next vote.

Firing him might be easy if enough stockholders / employees join the shareholder meetings to give vote of no confidence.

How many times do we have to remove bad leadership in any context only for worse leadership to take over before we realize step one is identifying better leadership before replacing the current leadership?

Chuck leaving or fired is long overdue. If it happens it would not be surprising. If Jeetu gets picked as his successor instead of gary then that will be a horrible decision and drag thr company down even further. Jeetu is all talk and no walk. He will only accelerate ciscos decline into a collapse

If Chucky quits the decision been made long ago and so has the power struggle for his replacement. Expect ELT exodus once the replacement is named.

When was the last time you saw a home grown cutting edge product come out?

As a customer I haven't seen fully working software in over 30 years. Start with the basics.

@1sqk i hear you. But Cisco is soo garland behind on any innovation and lack of visionary CTOs and executives that it will take them years to innovate anything of substance. By then the market may not even want it. That's why we acquire companies to catch up with technology we are already behind in. And on top take years to integrate and prove value of the acquisition.

The problem is our d-mb CEO hired d-mber ELT who brought their own experience and convinced him to go down a path of never return. Look at each and every ELT member past and present. MM did her SF thing, JP doing his cloud and AI thing. Not one has any pulse of innovation.

I don’t know where this sh-t comes from.

Yes, I can see a scenario where Gary takes over as CEO and Chuck becomes Chairman of the Board

But below that what is really depressing is that CR continues to invest billions in acquisitions rather than investing in home grown innovation. When was the last time you saw a home grown cutting edge product come out?
