Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

Interview experience after layoff

I finished another job interview last week and one of the question was - what made me stay in GF so long . I being one of level 9 employees who joined GF decade back when vision of this dying company was to become one of “the” foundries in the world. Now those visions are are in dust and what is left is incompetent and a-s licking management structure with all failed employees holding management positions , toxic culture driven by one guy at top and all racist and failed people holding VP and other management positions. I just said that I stayed because of personal reasons as my kids are on high school and move is last thing we could think. I may get rejection again .. not sure it stigma due to working in GF, or being one of candidates with lay off history or age. I do agree that I made big mistake staying in GF even after seeing this coming and hope this post gives motivation for rest of us who survived lay off to avoid this pain that I am going through.

@Big Pivot

I love how this clown answers his own posts, and practically has a conversation with himself.

My vote is #2 as well. Either a low level drone who truly believes he should be high level, or got walked for being a dunce and is still surly. Either way, he's comedy gold.

When you are one of the beautiful people, you never have to worry about a layoff. There are only three reasons for one to be here on this site:

  1. Looking for information on layoffs, genuinely.
  2. Have a mental obsession about GF, while thinking you did a great job, but ended up being “course-corrected” by a layoff, and now bitterness rages, and moving on with a viable employer has not occurred.
  3. To troll.

It’s obvious the single person, double posting as two different people, fall into category #2. Rage on. We beautiful people will keep on working, collecting that smart Wall St. money that GF rewards us with.

Ciao, Salty Boy!

Tell us you’re still stuck at GF and miserable, without telling us you’re still stuck at GF and miserable.. You should spend less time on here and more time a—licking if you want to avoid the next round of layoffs..

If there is a fraud here, for sure it’s you who seem to know precisely how to down or up vote comments and links on this site multiple times!
P.s. thanks for displaying the toxic Hostile and failed culture of GF which op was referring to! Now tell us , which branch of GF a-s licking team do you belong to? that incompetent bunch of rejects labeled as SLT or HR?

I had several interviews after I was laid off. One of the interviewers literally grimaced when GF came up in conversation. Turns out she was a former employee who was impacted in 2018. I received an offer later that week from the company. 🤣 my advice is to put GF behind you. When asked about the layoff, you can always say, many positions and departments are being offshored to Asia/Bulgaria or eliminated all together. I was just hired this month and am enjoying collecting full pay from GF until March. Keep your head up high and don’t look back. Good luck
