Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

For those who were impacted in July and took the Standard Exit Date of Oct. 16,

do you guys have access to the payroll and tax documents in your ADP Global View portal yet? When I log in, it says there's nothing in there, but I need to see how much PTO will be paid out in order to apply for unemployment.

Although the exit checklist stated we'd be able to ask People Support about ADP when the time came, I'm locked out of my account and there's no way to reach them now (unless I'm mistaken, in which case please do correct/inform me). Thanks in advance :)

I make that in half a day at Cisco as GR10 in CX. you might be better off working at McD for $18/hr.

Look up the phrase "opportunity cost." If you came from Cisco with a six digit job and you have skills you're far better off devoting all your time to getting a similar job. If you are working at McDonald's and can't break free to interview you may miss a big opportunity for peanuts.

Why WOULDN'T someone apply for unemployment and miss out on the chance to get money from the government? Comparing it to working at McD makes no sense at all.

See above. Also, the employees at Cisco who contribute to the average of around $670K/yr/employee in revenue worked to pay for a limited resource to carry them over the hump. From what I can tell by reading many websites the cost to a given company includes in part how many people they'll be dumping in the street so those dumping more bodies pay at least somewhat more than others.

@3xwq+1pbypLoc OP seems like they /are/ applying for unemployement, hence their question. You might be getting it confused with what @1sok+1pbypLoc said, which personally sounds bull to me.

"unemployment? why u wanna do that, you might be better off working at McD for $18/hr."

I know this doesn't help, but I checked all the ADP stuff "before" my final day....so that I would have the right data.
But why would you NOT apply for unemployment? How much PTO payout you have doesn't matter. Unemployment is for people out of work, which you are.

I found this in the paperwork. Also have not been able to log onto any ADP site/ online payroll info, using the guidance given in the paperwork. If you find a hack please share!

"PTO (Paid Time Off)

Your final paycheck will include payment for the hours of unused PTO you have accrued through your termination date. If your PTO balance is negative, you will not be required to repay Cisco for the negative balance. If you have any questions regarding your final paycheck, please contact People Support at 866 282-3866 or 408 526-5999, option 2."

In all the paperwork that you received, there's no 800 # for HR/Benefits for you to call w/ questions? I find that hard to believe. That paperwork is pretty much boilerplate content where they fill in fields from some DB that has your name, job title, manager's name, dollar amounts for this, that, and some other category, and the end date, the date to sign & return paperwork, etc. Other than the specific values, the letter is the same for every employee (by country) so the country specific HR contact info is in the boilerplate.

Reach out to someone you used to work w/ and ask them for the local 408 SJC number or google the Cisco public phone number that gets you an operator. From there, you can ask for HR/Benefits.

Yes, you're locked out and everything is now by phone and them sending your email updates to your personal email you provide to them when you open the case. You should be able to log into ADP externally once you're added to some list that doesn't require accessing it from a Cisco Trusted Device and using Duo to authenticate first.
