Is it just like a regular interview in order to move roles?

Food enters mouth, travels down esophagus and into stomach, where it then mixes with some acid, thereafter going to small intestine followed by a trip through the big intestine before the big pay off out the bottom for a Number 2; which with any luck will be a clean break ghoster.
Why not break out in song with Johnny Paychecks “take this job and …..” . You know the words. If she or he has a sense of humor they might promote you for being a risk taker.
Go ahead and tell your boss you'd like another job. May as well jump off the roof. You'll be on a PIP then out the door.

Someone is very old and bitter and living in 1988. Move of us working for Oxy now weren’t even born then. We had nothing to do with that tragic event in the long ago past.
You exercise gross negligence and incompetence, such as burn down an oil platform or blow up a pipeline at Elk Hills or sell a North Dakota asset at $1billion loss or any of the other Oxy achievements in their long track record. That opens up lots of opportunities for moving, like 167 open positions in the North Sea at that time, just as an example.
You then shout about how great your company is and how proud you are of what they've done.
This. Managed moves are the only way to go here. Otherwise they’ll make you a nice scarlet A badge to wear
If they want you to have a different job, they'll let you know. Until then they aren't interested in your problems or desires. Just so you know that if you are persistent you could be marked as a disgruntled employee. It's a one way ticket to the layoff line. Depending on your boss or boss's boss you might get retaliated against. The easiest way is for them to suddenly call for a mid year review. Your rating will drop and you'll be going nowhere fast. Do an excellent with all you do and stay out of politics. Then make sure your supervisor’s boss knows your value to the company. Then ask for a move into the area or position you want and listen carefully to the response. If they tell you you are not ready then get specifics as to what additional skills or experience you need. Honestly, the move could happen very quickly or it could take several years.

Tell your manager you want to move, talk to manager in the position you want to transfer to or are interested in applying to. They post it internally and you apply. Short interview with new manager. Then ya get a transfer date. Not complex unless it is a different physical city.
Would say if you want to go somewhere let it be known and they try and move you if it becomes available. Also they desire at least 2 yrs before a transfer if you haven't done that yet in your current role.
It just doesn’t for some. Better leave. It is a phony show.
