Notifications on Tuesday?

Or we get the call invite on Monday and then we will be booted on Tuesday? How many more sleepless nights?

If P+ spent as much time tending to paying customers needs as it does to Agile/S.A.F.E., it would easily be number one and would have saved tons of dough. This is referring to some of the groups under VH -> HW org in particular. Not sure what other depts/orgs are doing.

The poster is stupid and misleading people. Whoever @sqd+1uDTe75c is happens to be 100% right. The company has zero obligation to provide severance and @1sdv+1uDTe75c is right most big companies will never not give you severance. That being said you are in zero position to negotiate. ALWAYS have a lawyer review if you have been at the company for along time. The point is yes the company will give you severance without signing but you will get the same signing.

Btw + almost always - the manager selected to meet with the employees getting laid off - then soon gets laid off themselves ...

The company can have you arrested for stealing... But do they ever ? NO. Same rhetoric this player is telling you: the company can refuse your severance if you don't sign. Odd that this player is going to lay off people Tuesday & he's here acting like everybody's best friend... No harm to asking the company these things - YOU Have NOTHING TO LOSE...

The company gives you plenty of time to review and sign the agreement. They encourage an attorney review as well.

In order to get paid severance beyond your separation date, you have to sign the agreement. This does not include the compensation you receive during the WARN period…which is the period after your last work day and before your separation date. I hope that helps.

Technically yes, the company can refuse your severance if you DON'T sign BUT large companies like Viacom, CBS & now paramount global don't do that!! Just ask them - youre allowed to ask. Ask: do I have to sign this? What happens if I don't sign this? Ask any way you feel comfortable & document & record everything. There isn't a single person here that can say THIS company refused their severance when they refused to sign the agreement. Read the agreement, take your time - don't let them intimidate you by rushing you. This player won't tell you that the agreement will say in some form: you accept this severance & agree you will not take legal action against the company . And anybody recently getting laid off should post the agreement somewhere or send it to bloggers such as the ftvlive guy to post

There are too much disinformation here, best not too listen to any of them and make your own judgement, ask a real attorney if necessary.

OMG you are so full of BS. YOU WILL GET SEVERANCE if you REFUSE TO SIGN! Don't listen to this guy. Anyone getting laid off - just simply ask them if you have to sign - if they say yes - they are lying. When I got laid off - I asked the HR head right there in front of management: this is a contract ( NDA AGREEING NOT to take legal action against the company) do I have to sign this? And the HR head said NO, you don't have to sign it. So I said "Good! So I won't " and they gave me the severance package anyway. record and document everything . You most likely complained against somebody or somebody complained about you is why you were chosen for layoff. The company is getting rid of their liabilities via layoffs. Google it. All companies have pretty much no obligation to give severance, that's all given. They aren't to give people severance & then refuse you because you don't sign . Company can't force you to sign anything!!! Don't let this guy fool you! Google all this stuff

NDA is a non-disclosure agreement. The company has ZERO obligation to give you severance legally other than the 60 WARN act payment. If you do not sign the agreement you will not get paid. Do not listen to this person. I am not saying sign it right away but understand your rights. Your severance will depend on your position and your state. Why do you think they are not firing any international resources? Because they have WAY more rights than we do here in the US.

"There is no requirement in the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) for severance pay. Severance pay is a matter of agreement between an employer and an employee (or the employee's representative)."

https://www.dol.gov/general/topic/wages/severancepay#:~:text=There%20is%20no%20requirement%20in,(or%20the%20employee's%20representative).

The employment separation agreement is the NDA, it's April contract - it states that you will not take action against the company etc. - that's an NDA.
AGREEMENT is A CONTRACT
In any event YOU DON'T have to sign it to get you're severance - so DON'T. Unless you want to listen to this joker & pass on your right to sue or talk about the company after you leave. ask them.... do I HAVE to Sign this? Oh and record everything - youre allowed to ( at least in NY, NJ) or just record everything & find out if you were allowed to later.

You won't be signing an NDA you will be signing your employment separation agreement. The person who posted about not signing is probably some ambulance-chasing lawyer. Please do check with a lawyer because everyone's circumstances are different. However, in mass layoffs like this, any type of lawsuit will 99.9% not go anywhere. Remember Paramount has put all the reductions through a legal review. If the lawyers saw any risk or issue the person was pulled from the list.

A big thanks to whomever warned against signing the NDA. I didn't know that there was one. I'm not union, but I wouldn't put it past the company try it, anyway.

If you are responsible for letting people go and already have a list, you should let them know today or tomorrow instead of waiting until Tuesday.

Don't sign anything. They ASK you to sign hidden NDA - don't listen to your union, they're in on it. Refuse to sign -;it's a trap to prevent you from taking action against the company . They'll give you the package anyway
