Does this restructure position Sabre for long term success?
Specifically, will Sabre recover faster than large competitors such as Amadeus and Travelport?

The reorg was just an excuse to cut more dfw heads. The same people who were at the top before. are still at the top. Why would a reorg help when those same people really had control all along. Sabre is in such a deep hole now, it will take 5-10 years to recover if they had awesome new leadership (which they dont).
I wouldnt bet on this company

Funny how quickly everyone forgot, that it wasn’t masz hysteria starting this - it was 2019 financial results. Hysteria came later, with a magnifier.
You do realize you are acting like one of those inmates in that movie "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" right? Mass hysteria started this mess, ditch it. If what you said were true all airlines would fail. The only people that would be pleased with that sort of world would be the green weenies.
We're going to recover.
Yes, it does. They will be at the absolute top of their travel-related industry within 18 months. Don't be a fool, ignore the naysayers. Patiently watch it happen.
The C suite comes and goes like a revolving door. Their total reward packages are really cushy it’s actually enhanced to the Max. for anyone at principal and below level, it would be sick to know how underpaid these folks are.
Sabre doesn’t have any line of sight short or long term. TS and TN merger is just a sham to divert attention from job cuts 2.0 3.0 etc
Sabre is in a really bad position. The crisis comes in a moment that the company has a huge technical debt with core applications/process still on legacy platforms. The competitors are on better shape. Maybe google aliance (acquisition?) Could improve Sabre products but that would imply more bad news for Sabre employees.
Keep an eye on the Market, if you were lucky to dont be impacted dont let the next wave catch you with your cv in bad shape. Keep working, keep learning, keep being accountble. But dont think your position may last 10 years more
I for one am glad I am out of the sinking ship. We are bound to have another wave of the pandemic and frankly I do not think Sabre can handle another impact this soon. They will for sure have more layoffs and they always seem to cut the good people that do the work and keep the puppets that say what upper management wants them to say and do.
No, things will not improve after this layoff or the next or the one after that.
Sabre is totally screwed. Bookings are down and will not return to 2019 levels for years. That hurts TN and AS. That PB pricing model was a thing of genius - NOT!
Airlines will go out of business with unpaid invoices. And good luck finding an airline that hasn't cut their capital project budget to zero.
Definitely faster than Travelport!!
if you mean "success for the executives" the answer is yes.
this will only help a little the stock price so they can cash out.
success for the company itself is something that Execs don't care about.
