Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Why am I not grateful ?

Here I am, still employed, working from home, I should be grateful right? But this company has been so awful with their strategy and corrupt tactics, in a pandemic, treating and communicating so poorly people want to quit ....it’s hard to feel grateful. Any ideas how I can get my soul back without quitting this snake pit?

You’re not alone in this feeling. Although I love working from home, I feel I’m not part of the team anymore. I work with some women who are just “mean girls”. The tension is terrible during huddle calls. And I just feel like I’m being left behind somehow.

I been with Allstate since 2016. Once the virus slows down, economy improves, and people aren't mostly working from home a jobs I am seriously considering going to a different company. Even tho my job is safe and I wasn't cut I know longer can believe in this company or trust them with how they treated loyal employees and also like posters have said above that the workloads have increased due to job reductions. If it wasn't a pandemic I'd seriously be looking but I have to play it conservative and safe right now until the vaccine is here and virus dies down them I'm probably out

I resigned after being put on an Action Plan, while working 60 hr weeks. I now work in a different sector of insurance, I was talking to a contractor the other day who was frustrated at insurance carriers in general. He stated some of them have become so awful. Out of curiosity i said, no kidding.... which one do you think is the worst of the worst ? You can guess who he said without even taking .5 seconds to think about it. NO LIE. I chuckled and thought to myself Yup, I was spot on w/ my decision.

Because these are uncertain times and workloads aren’t exactly “minimal”. Things will probably balance out in the future once the meat of transformative growth is over with. If not, you’re always free to look for work elsewhere. Nobody’s forcing you to stay with the company.

I was in the same boat as you, my job became unbearable the workload was unbearable, the metrics were out of reach for the most part, I started feeling uncomfortable settling claims in the manor Allstate wanted, I got to the point that I just could not work and keep my moral fortitude intact. I had to quit, planned my departure for several months and finally left after 24 yrs. It was scary at first but I have never felt better, like a weight lifted from my soul. I will survive without the chaos @ Allstate just fine. Plan ahead, have about a 60 day backup for funds to survive on while moving to the next opportunity

I feel the same way. 😞. And besides the feelings you already wrote, I still don’t feel my job is secure.
