Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Stay Safe

I’ve only been with Walmart for 4 months. I started in February as an ASM trainee and was hit with my Academy training being postponed because of Covid 19.

I am fresh out of the Academy training by only 2 weeks and here we are with riots along side of Covid 19. I never in my 42 years of retail with 40 of those years being in management would have ever imagined things could get this bad. I pray for every associate with Walmart whether your store has been hit or not, that you are safe and out of harms way.

If ever there is a time for a company to come together it is now. I may not know you personally but we are family from a far. Please stay safe and God be with each and every one of you! ❤️

A lot of these people are making more off of unemployment. So they could have simply walked into the store and bought the stuff instead.

"A riot is the language of the unheard." - Martin Luther King Jr.

No one has been listening to victims of police brutality. Maybe now, change is on the horizon.

@1rwj Now you have plenty of time to participate in peaceful protests to invoke social change so these riots don't occur anymore over further senseless police k–lings.

So I just found out the overnight shifts are cancelled because of these scumbags rioting. Now I can't work because of these scum criminals.

It's a tough year, and we worked our butts off, my heart goes out there to the associates and management that were infected by the virus, emotional stress, pregnant workers, fathers, and ALL associates that worked more than what that was asked for.

This is no time to shame the looters, people that riot, and to the peaceful protesters. We knew this pot was going to boil over soon, the racial tension was too thick in the air. I do believe there will be a positive outcome, it takes time.

Some of us worked in our stores for years, it feels like a 2nd home without us knowing because we've been in there most of the week. If your store is getting looted, please don't defend that merchandise or try to fight back(unless you truly don't have any choice), just remember your Fire EXITS and go home, stay safe.

Let's come together, pray, and spread love. Don't let any corporate or market managers anger you, because they're not on ther front lines, you just have to forgive their ignorance
