Let's face it, working here used to be good. Something to be proud of, even. Good pay, good benefits, good people, rare (if any) cuts... Am I the only one who really misses those days? These days I'm finding more and more reasons to leave and fewer and fewer reasons to stay.

I'm not sure what your argument is here, even if we assume you're correct the people brought in to solve the problem would have still been laid off. You continue to project a childish world view here, as demonstrated by the name calling and lack of depth...
Hey dip sh1t. It’s not a reflection on the employees that the management threw people at every problem instead of working it out with processes or improvements. Management hires the people not the employees and the employees have no say on strategy.
If the company can carry on without you or perform better after you're laid off you should have never been hired to begin with. Maybe legacy CVE people should reflect on their own poor performance mandating 10 rounds of layoffs before assuming its something wrong with the company itself.
What are you talking about?! Layoffs don’t impact morale here at Cenovus. We love it and are so good at it after years of practice. Why if it did you would have a whole lot of very angry demoralized and posting a bunch on random anonymous websites. Oh wait.
@2mig+1ayneaDo CVE was the one with 10 layoffs (or more?) in 10 years, so it’s a bit rich to point fingers at Husky’s culture. At least Husky employees didn’t live in fear of layoffs for a decade!
@2mig+1ayneaDo Lol. Apparently you don’t have a glassdoor account. They certainly don’t cap reviews at 500. Good try though ..... and you are the one who sounds toxic and bitter.
That’s pretty much the point. Your culture at Husky was /is toxic and you’re bringing it over to CVE. Top down angry management approach instead of treating your employees like valuable stakeholders. And the Glassdoor is a popular site, they cap the reviews at about 500 as the older ones drop off. Good try though.
Anytime you want to throw in the towel @1roz+1ayneaDo you let me know. I have a list of ex–Husky people longer than I'm tall who are more than happy to take over your job.
You legacy CVE people are soft, you'd have never survived working for the Chinese in legacy Husky.
Nah. The glass door isn’t used very much anymore. Their site is too cumbersome to navigate. The whole time it has been active there is only 500 reviews which tells me it isn’t a very popular site.
Post your reviews of the companies performance on the Glassdoor website. It’s the one place that actually matters and they do pay attention to. They find it very embarrassing to see the truth out there about how their employees really feel. Then they can’t say it’s just ten or so bitter people posting here.
You want to make an impact put a review in there!!
Funny the only reason they could come up with to stay is lack of jobs in the market. If the job market does ever bounce back Cenovus is in deep trouble. It would be a rush for the exits.
"Lots of people are happy working here".
Now I've heard it all. Thanks for the chuckkkle
I was having a good laugh at the new comedy show idea on the bridge. Just watching our management flounder is enough laughs for anyone. We shouldn’t have to pay for a comedian.
This place sucks compared to what it used to be. I didn’t think it could go downhill anymore but Alex has managed to do that feat nicely.
The culture and management are a lost cause. Everyone afraid to tell the truth about how bad it really is and they go and hire comedians. How about working on the fear based culture your husky management brought over? Meat heads.
Well I for one don't blame anyone for thinking of the good old days , but the markets changed and companies have to adapt , that's why there was these drastic changes , that being said I do think if they had proper management in that office I do think there would be alot different people still working there not the a–s kissing types that are left the ones that actually work not just push work onto others but that's just my opinion
Hilarious that anytime someone defends a person or the company against the raging displayed in here, you automatically assume it is ‘management’ or ‘HR’. Like somehow you feel everyone should be just as sour as you and if they aren’t, they MUST be management. LOLOLOL Believe it or not, lots of people are happy working here. I agree with @txd+1ayneaDo’s post. Move along if you aren’t happy. Wiping your nose with your crying towel isn’t going to fix your issues or the company’s.
And @txd+1ayneaDo just highlighted exactly the problem with the attitude at this company. This is how management responds to any criticism. Good to see the site is still being monitored by the company. I hope some investors take a look too....
What's with all the entitled people on this site? Fewer reasons to stay? How about the complete absence of choice in the job market and the legion of unemployed people who would ki–l for the opportunity you're whining about.
Grow up and be grateful you little s***.
