Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

One-on-one with my manager

I have an unexpected one-on-one meeting with my manager tomorrow. I haven't heard of any layoffs before the end of the year, but I can't stop panicking. Did anybody else receive a similar invite out of the blue? How worried should I be about this? I don't think I'll be getting much sleep tonight.

There is nothing fictitious in the posts regarding Doogie Pudgerson. That RVP is more slippery than a mud wrestler.

The story of fictitious, like most of the posts

Why would an RVP tell someone they may need to testify? Isn't that something Legal does and advises emails to be saved etc.? This sounds like your management team was fishing. Good luck with this. The comments about your RVP aren't very flattering. Legal's job is to protect CC from loss if they can redirect responsibility away from senior mgmt they will. Watch out for your job if you don't play the game.

@2sit+1qb17Jcx Being that you know who the RVP is, you probably also know the particulars of the issue. Quite possibly even are the RVP.

What lawsuit is happening in the West? I know there’s been a history of fraud and other ethics complaints in the West, but why is DP being sued?

@1rin+1qb17Jcx Guess the VP and Director didn't like that comment.

@1rin+1qb17Jcx Let's not lower ourselves by attacking physical attributes. Those physical attributes are a result of a bigger issue of said person's ethos.

@1ote+1qb17Jcx Nothing on anyone's part needs to be done. Looks like you're doing to it yourself from my perspective.

@lrh+1qb17Jcx That's Humpty Dumpty's SOP. Nothing in writing to provide plausible deniability. Is a subscriber of the Chaos Management style. Pathetic!

@t-t+1qb17Jcx Facts!! Humpty Dumpty is very well insulated and not just physically.

The sad part about that law suit is that Humpty Dumpty is actually the architect of the fraud and dishonesty but the direct report will be the fall guy, er person. The insulation isn't just on Humpty Dumpty.

@qdw+1qb17Jcx, so the VP and Director called you into a special meeting just to say that you may be called to testify? They couldn't just send a 2 sentence email?

This is why Crown is going down. Too many wasted tasked being performed by people we really don't need.

Don't tell gen z that. They think they can sue because their feelings are hurt.

It is so funny that people here keep talking about lawsuits. Just so you know...... the only people who have successfully sued a corporation are those who proved discrimination against race, religion, age, disability or s-xual orientation. Even then, they still had to articulate the damaged caused by said discrimination.

Just a director being an a-hole does qualify as a winnable lawsuit.

Random 1:1, VP explains dismissal and hands over to BS to go over details. Computer locks down. Done.

It is official. The Crown Clowns have run the ship into the ice berg. The West which is run by humpty dumpty's twin is the laughing stock of the company. The corruption just flows here. Smart people are getting out. The verbal abuse from his directors is stacking law suits left and right.

I received an impromptu invite with my Director and VP. The Director, who I considered a friend, didn't say a word. Good news is I may be subpoenaed to testify against Crown for a case, and they will lose.

I didn't even get a 1:1 scheduled. I got a message asking if I can chat. I then went to the call and saw the VP and Director sitting next to each other. I was told I was being separated and will be emailed my separation package. BS wasn't involved.

I doubt the manager would schedule a 1:1 for a termination because they want it to be surprised to prevent any hostile actions. The manager may need to file the end of year performance sheet and they are doing it last minute. You want that done for your bonus depends on it.

Update on the meeting? General or Lay off? Should we be on alert?

BS won't be on the invite, they're called by the manager during the meeting.

Who’s on the invite? Is it your manager and someone fromBS? If it’s just your manager you’re fine

If you're already on a PIP, expect to be fired. If not, maybe it's nothing or maybe they're giving you a severance package. Regardless, I'd be looking for a new job. Like the other person said if 1:1's are so sporadic that you're concerned about getting the axe, your manager is terrible.

@cht+1qb17Jcx For 95% of employees, a ambiguously scheduled 1:1, scheduled the day before is typically bad news of some sort.

How bad is is your manager that a 1:1 is so rare it only means your getting fired.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Every move that is motivated by Elliott has been announced in the media. There has been no talk of layoffs. That’s not to say it won’t happen. I’m pretty sure it will. Just not right this second.

Most managers barely want to do the team meetings. One on ones are usually termination. Is this Elliot’s Xmas present for Crown employees?

No invite, but you can expect events to move with lightning speed now. Don't panic, don't lose sleep. Start looking for a new job. If you don't need it, good. But you might. A plan begets confidence.
