@obll+1s5An0UN Amen
BDM work is equated to a Cisco ready report pass it on to the partner call them once a month to see where they are

In my region Cisco Ready or Beyond Ready might as well be an NVIDIA algorithm for them they can't even use it 😂😂😂

Commit calls and the evidence presented is the distributor said, the partner said, too often they don't speak to the end customer

I don't blame the individual contributors but the managers they allowed this culture, I feel this is the reason they brought MEDDPICC in to start changing this lazy culture

For any UKG peeps reading this drivel, please understand that Cisco is full of crusty old Account Managers and Client Executives who basically operate on renewing the business someone else sold 15 / 20 / 25 years ago. Network refresh here, Data Center refresh there. Sit on your a-s for 2 to 3 years until you can end-of-life a product line, or take it out of support.

Also, Cisco has this unbelievably antiquated Partner/Channel ecosystem that siphons revenue without adding value at all in most accounts.

These "sales people" have been whistling past the graveyard for years as their company doesn't innovate and is slowly eaten alive from the outside by more nimble/innovative competitors, and from the inside by lazy a-s AMs and CEs who wistfully long for the good ol days.

I have watched as Client Executives and AMs sit d-mbfounded, as they have any ideas, processes or products explained to them which aren't routers and switches.

Here's the sad truth - sometimes companies have a moment, selling the right thing at the right time (like hmmm, I don't know, routers and switches at the dawn of the Internet) and then they get comfortable and lazy. This is Cisco.

How the he-l do you miss "the cloud" when you're the company "that built the internet?!?"

Rachel Barger may su-k as much as a lot of the commenters below would have you believe. Or, she may have been the most recent in a long line of leaders captaining a constantly sinking ship.

Damn. I am at UKG. Unfortunately she sounds like the typical hire our leadership
Team would sign up for. More about image than substance.

Easily the worst leader hired by Cisco in 20 years. She hired and promoted the worst of the worst as long as they fit the Cisco DEI criteria du jour. It took her less than two years to run the Americas team into the ground. She’ll ruin this next company too. Just wait…

It all worked so well when Rick Justice was in charge. Sure, the world was simpler then, but there was none of this cats-in-a-sack infighting and useless initiatives on a monthly basis su-king everyone’s time. It was much more fun working at Cisco then. It’s now torture.

The company she’s going to is the largest privately held software company

Omg imagine leasing all of Americas for Cisco then going to that tiny little nothing company.

Artemis program in commercial - Huge, huge waste and now coming into FY25 what to do with all these new employees that haven't sold a single product or for the SEs haven't created the first CCW build. You are told to focus on all these metrics but isn't there only one that really matters - attainment.

If you need MEDDPICC to sell, you don't need to be selling. This is not the right job for you.

Looks like she jumped ship to UKG as their GTM/SVP of Sales.

Meddpicc is excellent tbh I have to disagree
When I have been on it engagements with customers are more fruitful
Rather than the AM bringing the bus of specialists with 200 slides to see the customer

Think of how much time we wasted and how much revenue we lost with this MEDDPICC garbage. Months and months of sales productivity LOST. So let me get this right: You come in with no sales leadership track record, force everyone to use a bunch of tools that don't work. Measure them on it. Augur the business right into the ground and then get a huge severance package. She and Justin haven't stayed anywhere more than 3 years. Terrible, terrible leaders. Let's hope we can turn around for FY25.

She would read the weekly updated comments from all the SFDC deals on the weekends. Told me all I needed to know about how strategic she was.

Don't forget to her sage advice, take our customers to have pizza or donuts, while HP is taking our customers to Eddie Vs. The taking care of customers with almost zero OPEX is a joke.

Those in sales (and probably other areas) hope that many of her pet projects go away. We spend so much time on tasks like C4L, Meddpicc, etc that it barely leaves time to see customers. A friend says make good products/take care of customers and you will be a success. Spending half a day talking doing busy work because Rachel wants it is a direct cause of not having time to take care of customers. Also, Artemis program in commercial. What a waste of money with no rewards to those who have taken goal on these highly paid sellers.

AXED (confirmed by very, very connected sources). She reduced the projected $$ by MILLIONS the past week. If she'd simply hung a sign around her neck stating "I have (and never had) any clue about Sales management" would have been the most ethical, transparent thing she could have done. May the rest of the All Loser Squad follow suit.

I seriously believe if there is to be a quick turn around that CR start making calls to some of the many former and numerous sales and engineering execs who are still around or even retired. Cisco has lost a lot of talent over the years perhaps some could be brought back short term to help restart and refocus.

I heard she got deep fried and binned due to being well done and over cooked. Apparently the customer wanted his burger a medium rare .

She is useless. Can't listen and adapt. Reads from a script no matter what the customer is telling her.

She has been a huge disaster for sales. Completely ineffective as an executive. She could not speak without a script. There has been no strategy from her. She has been one of the most out-of-touch executives.
