Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Has office space at corporate stated to get consolidated yet?

You’ll know things are really going to get paranoid as people start getting moved around the headquarters. Corner offices become vacant, departments need to move closer to each other to streamline efficiencies. Just be ready to remove your personal items within thirty seconds. Don’t keep to me stuff around.

@1qgr+139HlagC: So I’m a panic pusher huh?!
Looks like what I’ve been predicting has come true. Want to know something really crazy? I haven’t been with the company for 2-1/2 years now. How do I know all this stuff will happen? Because I lived it with another company ironically that was a vendor to BBBY. Center Line took over Focus Products and the layoffs and consolidation of office space started to happen like clockwork. You don’t think leases can be broken or renegotiated? Think again!!!
Get out while YOUR in charge, fire them instead of them firing you. Right now it’s all about ROI, and you don’t own the right stock to benefit.

Just like that 500 employees are shown the door! That's gotta be a lot of office space that will need to be sub-leased because those positions are NOT coming back. Follow the money folks, the CEO is not the one in charge, the capital investment groups are and they're going to Gordon Gecko BBBY.

Dont forget, a LOT of employees at corporate came from the stores, so they GET it. Whether it was a month ago or 15 years ago, a lot of them know and upper management relies on that feedback heavily. If YOU were offered a corporate position, you'd he a damn hypocrite if you didnt accept that job as well. So quit being jealous and stop complaining and be happy you have a damn job. Good day!

In the past, in my so called district, we had a store manager who managed poorly, lead poorly, trained poorly, treated his associates like (can't say), Was taken away from his position and made a senior, transferred to another store and continued to do the same. The other managers (including the SM) didn't feel he deserved to stay with company... Yet he has been a huge cause for managers and associates to be let go or transferred to other stores. Why don't higher ups in the company look into the stupid people like that instead of getting rid of those who actually do something for the stores?!

I would love for them to work in a store for a day or two each week. Maybe then they would stop photoshopping their planograms and standards. N nothing worse then being torn by the AMM because something isn’t we to guide because they don’t know where the screws are that hold the whole divider wall together.

Common employee. Just Wow with that comment. Speaks to our awful culture. Would love all at Union to know you're collectively a joke to those of us common employees doing the REAL work. From waaaay down here LOL seems like HQ is a complete clusterF. But keep your fat paycheck until it disappears. Just wow.

Can't do that. The pay would have to be cut enormously for them to be a common employee.

Sounds good. Most of those corporate desks should be gone anyway. Assign them to stores where they can use a desk as needed but teach them to take calls, pull ROPIS, actually help a customer! Oh the resignation letters will fly in!

Okay panic pusher. They just leased their office space for another 15 years. They haven’t under grown their corporate business that much like Pier 1. Online is still booming.
