"We graduate two times more Americans with STEM degrees each year than find STEM jobs, yet as much as two-thirds of entry-level hiring for IT jobs is accomplished through the H-1B program," the position paper said. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math.

More than half of H-1B visas are issued for the program's lowest allowable wage level, and more than 80% for its bottom two

Are there any IT employees left doing new work or is it all Infosys/TCS, or is Follett employees relegated to maintenance?

Not much CNS bragging anymore. A few employees have quietly disappeared over the past two months.

A new development team that will likely report directly to the business, not IT. They know how to get it done.

Follett does not value technical skills and believe it can easily be replaced with offshore workers who have no loyalty to Follett. There are now more people on 7 and 10 who are from offshore companies than american workers. Shame on you Follett family. I am from a business unit and as an independent observer I can tell you that the offshoring has been a complete disaster.

The past 3 years have been an endless warfare on employees and their salaries. That whole 600+ person layoff was designed to cut expensive workers and hire inexpensive workers. Benefits were taken because hours were cut (from the new hires). If you are a follett employee, your company HATES you. "Leadership" thinks the only reason you exist is to get in the way of their bonus. If you refuse to relocate (code for "you're useful because there are employees who get paid more elsewhere and you can replace them"), if you aren't looking to move into management or senior positions, if you're simply very good at the job you've held for years, you're hated. You are a liability. You are a risk. You will be run out, one day. Perhaps it won't be today, but that day will come. You will be replaced by less expensive labor, and then management will turn their eyes to someone else to drive away.

Yes, they abuse the visa system. There is no one who will represent the employee. You're alone and they want your money.

  • If American workers are training their foreign replacements before they get laid off, then it is quite obvious that it’s the American trainers—not the H-1B trainees—who have the superior skills.

  • The H-1B workers Infosys and Tata hire are being used as temporary, cheaper, disposable labor, not as a way to permanently introduce talent and innovation into the American labor market.

Follett uses Infosys. Huge cuts in the IT department.
