Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Most Toxic Postings are here

Just passing through and Schwab must have the worst postings. Seriously the most hated company by employees / ex-employees this year. Almost like the next Enron.

Thanks for noticing. Would you like to fill out a glint engagement survey for me?

But it will be traced back to you, so no, that will not help!

Toxic posts are due to the fact that many of us drank the kool aid and got burned when push came to shove and they let so many high performers go during the layoffs. Many of those people worked incredibly hard and made their leaders look great for years! Toxicity is created when you claim to have a great culture that cares about people and show through your actions that you are diabolically not what you claim to be.

Elitist leaders who have been there 20+ years themselves made really horrible decisions about who to layoff. It shows how ignorant they are despite their ivy league degrees. They have majorly impacted people’s lives and have no conscience. Hopefully they will ultimately go to he-l.

It is a toxic work environment. I've never seen such laziness.

And yes, of course people who are unhappy should get another job. But if you change a job after a couple months when you realize Schwab su-ks that harms your career (job-hopping is frowned upon). So some people get stuck for at a year or more so they can avoid the reputational hit.

Frankly, if I discovered back when I was interviewing, I would've declined the job offer. I had no idea Schwab was such a cesspool until my first day. It was painfully obvious on day one.

Just put all your money in Nvidia stock. Buy it don’t trade it. You will never have to work again. Hope you bought it in 1995.

Spot on!

I would say that 1 out of 10 of the people that were let go were top performers (in their profession, not at Schwab). They were at the wrong place at the wrong time. Most of the people that were let go, were just dead weight.

Another 10% can be canned without problem. Just look at all the people whining at this forum. People with bad attitudes that Schwab would be better off without.

Productivity hit? Maybe. They already have had outages related to the layoffs.

To be expected. Schwab was tolerating poor performance for too long. Now, when the bottom of the barrel was expunged, the rest are complaining as they need to work a little bit more. Trust me, Schwab can cut another 10% without any impact on productivity.

Honey, if you think the rif took out the bottom of the barrel you are the bottom of the barrel. We lost great talent with solid reviews. And we kept the bottom. Look at Tiny alone.

The company is almost on its 3rd CEO at this points its just a ticker that makes money for the executives. So why would anyone do more work than that's needed is beyond me. Just do enough work that you don't get fired approximately 4 Hours a Day or less and if you get laid off just move your money where you see fit and move on.

Like most Banking and Investment Banking Schwab is
Passive Aggressive org at it's best and Cult as it's worst.
Just Go around the team which is more then 2+ old.
following pattern you will see

  1. Every one agree
  2. there would sweet talk on face , back bit at back
  3. if you disagree you will sidelined
  4. There false rumor and accusation that would be given know as constructive feedback
