Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Who will be the next pulling out?

It didn’t surprise me at all that Nike was pulling out. If you were a company, would you still stay at Macy’s - I believe you wouldn’t. I just wonder who’s next, who’s going to get out of here next and is this company doing anything to keep vendors? It seems to me that nothing is being done about it. There is no longer any vision for this company to get back on track.

Maybe to Kaepernick, you and millions it wasn't disrespectul but it sure was to millions of others. That's what's great about this country, we are free to protest and protest back. However, Kaepernick did have picture of a pig dressed as a cop, so he was attacking all cops and his message got lost. No doubt we have a ways to go in treating each other better but it's not as bad as the left and left leaning media want you to believe. Don't forget, blacks also commit a higher percentage of violent crimes and I'm sure that may have to do with how we perceive each other. Don't believe me, look at your local arrest records and look at the percentage by race on who commits the violent crimes, even during this past year. However, you will not hear that from the main stream media because it doesn't fit the narrative. And if America was that bad, why do millions of people of color and other non-white nationalities risk their life to come to America. You know why, because they want a better life, freedom to succeed and provide for their families. America is not perfect but it's not as bad as the left wants you to believe.
Btw Kaepernick was not even average when compared to other qbs in the NFL in his last year, he was in the bottom half statistically. So he was getting paid mlions to be less than half of others who made way less. So yes he "paid" dearly, you mean he got "paid" dearly for being a bad qb.

Kapernick can take a knee all he wants. But not on NFL time. That's the problem with what he and now so many others are doing. They aren't paid to take a knee and protest, they are paid to play their sport. Paying fans in their seats forced to watch the protest. That's wrong. This protesting business should have been done on their own time. Not in the stadium or coliseum where they are expected to follow a code of conduct befitting their contract. I'll not change my mind about it.

Nike wants customers to buy more of its shoes, clothing and gear at Nike stores and on Nike.com and its apps. as well as at a more limited groups of retailers like d—s Sporting Goods and Footlocker. So the company has slashed the number of traditional retailers its sells its goods to while shifting to grow directly through its own channels especially online. That has affected big and small retailers.

Kneeling during the national anthem was not about being unpatriotic- Kapernick was utilizing the large voice professional athletes have in a public arena to draw attention to the huge disparity between how people of color and their white peers are treated in this country, ie. George Floyd. Kapernick has paid dearly for taking a stand (or knee) for his beliefs. How many in the public eye are willing to do the same? Again, anyone who is knowledgeable about what "taking a knee" is all about would NEVER deride Nike for their support of someone who really does want positive change in the United States.

Nike is just another huge company that has sold out the Country that made it possible to be what it is. Nike use to beg independent vendors to give it a shot when it first got started. Now, it has literally forgotten those small vendors, those that took a chance on Nike, some which depend on sales of Nike to make most of their money. With Nike pulling out of those small vendors, I'm sure many will close up shop. Macy's and other big vendors can survive without Nike. Yes it's a big loss but Nike does not make or break Macy's. When Nike leaves Macy's it will be easier for me to not buy Nike, out of sight out of mind.
