Axing Phoenix to save cost

Such a fanciful project coined for their own job security for 5 years and beyond and still in visioning stage after more than a year. This deserves to be axed to save the hundreds of millions.

I can understand IT folks working on Phoenix trying to save their jobs, but there are a LOT of non-IT people in high positions who were pulled from their other jobs in which they were not adding any value. Here they are just creating wordy charts with help from consultants and are still useless.

DR just shifting the CAPEX to OPEX for Phoenix and have to cut expenditure once the vendors got us hooked onto them. The teams and IT working on pre-Phoenix had failed multiple times and just working hard to secure their jobs with this project.

Many solution providers, implementation partners and consulting companies who stand to benefit will do everything to ensure the project doesn't get dropped. These deal are made over executive dinners.

Reeder responded to a GF Current Q/A question about Phoenix, he assured them it was not going to be impacted.

Phoenix will not be axed. It is a priority along with LCD to drastically reduce IT once fully implemented.

Phoenix waste is nothing compared to $100's Millions in TC & SLT IPO rewards for their serial failures!

Yes, let's trust IT with this endeavor. The organization with the most leadership turnover and high-profile terrible decisions (microsoft 365, outsourcing, numerous high impact issues). At least they started replacing people's laptops.

And get it in writing! Globalfoundries is sneaky. Look at ibm lawsuit for fraud. Which looks like it’s shaping up to us losing

It will be interesting to see that our customers are more concerned about our employees than our execs.

Absolutely agree! Waste of money. Needs to be axed. But then GF has a history of making stupid investment decisions - like ordering 2 EUV tools when 7nm was going to fail, like proposing 7nm+ when the base was nowhere. They will spend enormous effort on reviewing smaller business cases, but no effort on reviewing and tracking big $$$ investments that give job security to some crooks at the top.

I think a lot of projects will be axed or significantly reduced. If I was a company who made some deals or arrangements with GF; I would be one phone none stop to see what is going on and how it affects/impacts our agreement.
