Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

WFH will go bye bye

After seeing that Tesla is being told a minimum of 40 hours a week in the office then it's only a matter of time DW says the same.

Currently people are only coming in 2.5 days a week on average. I know there are some that are much less. While we've been productive at home some of you are playing with fire and going to cause all flexibility to be lost.

@1xir Jobs were being sent overseas long before 2020, when WFH was made available to the commoners. I don’t get why people who don’t like WFH keep bringing up outsourcing as if it didn’t exist until last year.

It’s also a fact that very little gets done at the office. In addition to outsourcing, slacking off was a thing before 2020.

If you can WFH, you can work from KLTC. I would tread carefully around WFH and flexing your day.

I’ve never understood people in America arguing to work more hours for the same salary. How many hours you work in a week is not a badge of honor, it’s not sone unfun drinking game.

I got more work done WFH than in the office with the useless chatter and attempts to boost morale.

“WFH is a joke….”

I’m pretty sure that executives have had access to remote work since the 1990s, including your favorite billionaire @1ors. What happened over the past two years is that remote work was expanded beyond the executive class.

Elon fanbois are hilarious. He uses you like trash and steals your money for overpriced unreliable cars … and you love him for it. #slavementality

WFH is a joke. Elon is right. USA is becoming lazy. A recession might wake people up.

“WFH will go bye bye”

I’ve said it before on another thread, and I’ll say it here again:

The average Exxon employee would last ten minutes working for Elon Musk. Take it from someone who left O&G to work at a private space company.

I’ve you’ve been in O&G for 10 years or more, stay put, because you’re not working very hard, you’re paid more than you’re worth, and you’re nowhere near as good as you think you are.

I can see this coming too, I don't think it's long before the productive flexibility will be lost in EM Western locations. Another lever to get rid of people.

Elon Musk is a troll who needs to go smoke more. His tweets and demeanor reek of withdrawal. Let’s see how many of his top performers leave for other places.

We’ll see if Tesla is the Exxon of old or more like the Mobil of ages past
