Where did you apply that you love the culture and the pay is comparable or better? Looking for something fulfilling and Verizon is just depressing.

I left Verizon in the end of 2020 from B2B.. it was getting worse with the same mundane sales calls that I had to build and present every week.. new content every week was hard, how do you create new content for One Talk? (sux) Anyways after I got fed up with One Talk, BlueJeans (horrible product), and other ancillary wireless products I had to bounce.. I've always wanted to work in tech so I started studying hard on the new company's platform using PluralSight (free for Verizon emp), and other learning platforms. During the pandemic, I studied for about 6 months receiving a couple of certifications, then finally after failing several interviews, I got my big break.. I now work for Salesforce.. such a dream come true, busted my bu-t for it and it paid off. My salary alone is what I made at Verizon with commission. I get salary + commission. Elevate yourself, invest in yourself. Take initiative and just START. Verizon is a commodity, once it becomes that, you as employees are less valued. Good luck everyone, passing good vibes and strength to elevate yourself!!
Was with Verizon wireless since 2008, recently quit 2020 right when group comission started, I was always a “heavy hitter” rep made winners circle 6 times. When this group comission launched my manager would always pressure me to sale for the rest of the store, while the lazy reps would be chatting in the back, we’ll that wasn’t going to cut it for me I figured they cut my comission by almost 3k, gave me $1 hourly raised to offset my pay, (that was a slap in my face) Gave my 2 weeks left applied at chase, they almost matched my hourly, almost making the same at chase with similar benefits and let me tell you it’s ALOT less headaches, no retail hours set schedule , no micro management list goes on . For Anyone trying to leave VZw right now is the best time most companies will hire you in the spot and some will even match your pay . Anyways would never go back to that he-l place know as Verizon wireless retail store I predict it will just get worst . Good luck you all
All over LinkedIn.
Research company reviews on Glassdoor. That’s where you’ll find insight on a prospective organization’s culture. I left for the tech industry and I can tell you it’s unbelievably better than Verizon. Good luck.
I left Verizon in March. I was with Verizon for 8 years. I am grateful for all that Verizon gave me but I felt I had to leave. I knew I it was over when I become almost sick to my stomach walking in to my store to start the day. I would have a visceral reaction when we would have our morning huddle to where I wanted to just scream obscenities like a mad man. I hated every second I was there and I had a moment of clarity that my meaningless job is not worth any of these feelings and mental anguish. Like in the movie Office Space, I chose to go into construction, fence installation to be exact. While the money isn’t as much as Verizon was paying me, my life took a complete turn, and I am so much happier now and my mental health vastly improved. Also, at the end of the day I’m proud of my work and I know it’s actually a contribution to society. Pride was never a feeling I had while slinging (insert Verizon’s flavor of the week product or feature here) to those who don’t need it. So my advice to you would be to think outside the box and try and find something that has meaning and fulfillment. While I know this can’t be applied to everyone but, try not to let money be the primary dictator of your next job title. I know a lot of people that make more than me now, but I don’t know a lot of people that are as happy to go to work as I am now. Food for thought. Good luck to you!
For the avg person and a majority of Verizon wireless employees you are in a dead end job. The advancement progression for a retail employee has a cap. Yes a few break out.
I realized that Verizon did a great job of making you think that employees are vauled and the benefits were amazing. I will agree the benefits were above average. Now those are slowly getting cut back.
The job market is great for people looking. Get motivated, market yourself. Good luck. I found a government job.
