What CL do I need to be to make more than $400k a year?

Knee pads, ability to touch your toes for long periods of times, and lack of gag reflex
$400k is executive level. What other companies still hire US senior/principal technical experts at > $250k between salary/bonus?
I was not PIP but can see where I was heading. A bunch of miserable a-s-kissing individuals who twisted a performance rating system to elevated the preselected few. Individuals who would resort to gaslighting and intimidations to coerce me to go along with their ideas. There is no integrity when feedbacks are manipulated so supervisors can fabricate stories to justify lower rankings for certain employees. My supervisor couldn’t even look me in the eye to tell me I was declared NI. Couldn’t give a credible explanation. Never mentioned it again.
Although I could have stayed, taken the grind, and continue to collect the big pay check until I reached full retirement, my sense of pride would not allow me to do so. What a waste of precious time and talents to sit around at this miserable place. I am not rich, but I have enough money and definitely a lot more potential. What I don’t have is time. Precious time to do more and be in charge of my own career. My worth and sense of self is not tied to a company. Walking away was the best thing I ever did.
I appreciate that an executive actually chimes in with an answer. Restored some of my faith in the high CL. Apparently some of them are decent people.
@1nye It’s quite impressive that you managed to insult an executive on this executive-hating forum, and do it in such a way that everyone downvotes you. You must be a truly miserable person, congrats!
I see someone need to take better advantage of the healthcare plan/paid sick leave.
Exxonvaldez2009 - so fckig sorry you’ve been stuck for 8 years at CL 30 making $400k. You must truly sck cause you did not move up. You have no b*lls and are just a yes “person”. Oh so sorry about your 2000 RSU when becoming CL 30 plus all the other perks over 8 years. You r an assh@le for sure. Hope you f#ck up an expense account.
Yep forget about it..as your salary and age increases your performance will magically nose dive unless you are one of the chosen few.
An Indian will be doing your job at 10% of that salary. Unfortunately that is how Exxon values you. This is the new reality. Americans earning those numbers in the next 5 to 10 years will be very very limited.
If that doesn't fit your aspirations, you're better off leaving for a company that values it's employees.
I would move on.
@xtk+1u5G50Ip If you were mid 40s and CL 28 would you stick around and grind or try move to another company? I’ve always done well enough in the ranking but am not a HIPO.
