Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

What do they actually expect?

What's an ideal employee by SF standards? According to my experience so far, after a little more than 5 years, SF requires employees to be young but to have the experience and knowledge of someone who has been in this business for years, to be enthusiastic enough and able to do work for several people, to never complain and be happy with the peanuts being paid.

This is a leadership problem. They need to own it and be accountable for it

Training for the CS role should start with the CA role. Most of the time new CS's are completely unaware of the CA job, or that CA tasks can and should be assigned. Instead, they do both the CA and CS work, too.
TMs are really pushing for CS's to be thoroughly versed on PD, and handle that role as well.
Small wonder CS's have a rough time making metrics. It takes a couple years to figure out that you're not helping yourself by picking up task work to move your claim along that belongs to others 😑

Yeah I never wanted to be a CS...but I can see why some do. A tad more money is nice but then that tad more money comes with a hefty price tag too.

What's funny is how my fellow CA's thought CS's were supposed to actually know their jobs better than CA's. turns out most didn't. It would seem that CA's were the ones doing the most work and being paid and treated like cr-p. CA's are thought of as the red-headed step child.

@1nmz+1ba5eH17 I’m a CA that mastered my role, I’ll add on I don’t want to be a CS to deal with the sh-t you guys do to for not much of a financial gain to myself.

If SF offered even close to doubling my salary I think I could put up with it.

Call me lazy none motivated or whatever you want, I’m just playing the cards I was dealt.

If the only income you receive is a 2 week paycheck you’re wrong.

From my experience, a lack of ambition is a very desirable trait to have. People with ambition dont last long as they move on years before SF is ready to accept promoting them.

The CA position is both horrific at preparing people for the CS role, it might actually be destroying those workers ability to deal with conflict and make decisions and making them worse at qualities the CS role demands.

I expect you to work hard, to stop complaining, and to obey your superiors.

The only qualifications anyone hired in the last 5 years had was a wall full of participation trophies, so, State Farms expectations from those employees should have been very low.

Things were different when I started working.
