Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Xerox Business Model - in the market?

Xerox model is based upon people working in a physical office, and printing - the very thing that is literally banned across the world right now. I mean impression rates have literally gone to zero. And MPS?? no one in an office so same problem. Software? What does it do other than cut print? Print Room?? Certainly Not COVID friendly. Xerox is seemingly Dead dead dead in the water. So what is the outcome for Xerox from this Pandemic & what does that mean for its employees?

Did someone say aftermarket revenue shouldn't take a hit if actual meter reads were not obtained; reasoning that meters would be estimated? So you will attempt to justify some reason as to why you should bill estimated meters because you are desperate for revenue. Good luck collecting those billed estimated meters. Now fast forward another month or so, what is going to happen to aftermarket revenue when the estimates get trued up and or customers request credits. Aftermarket may not take a FULL hit NOW if meters are billed as estimates; but you will have a sh– storm coming.

The vast majority of MPS contracts include minimum impressions. Meaning customers printing nothing will still be billed for the minimum included in their contract. Customers should be very upset to pay for something they are not receiving. MPS volume is pooled across all devices in the enterprise. The enterprise isn’t printing, and yet still being billed for volume. Also, passing papers around is an archaic practice in today’s digital world. An a topic for the times, Papers can carry and hold a virus for days!! Many reasons to stop printing.

@1ndj+14ctjwYc You realize not all contracts are Lease plus Click right? You should talk to your finance people to explain fixed costs as well...

Flat rate per month on equipment lease even with no clicks. No clicks = no part spend. XDM and DD collect about 60% of all equipment meter reads 3x daily.

Most contract require meter collection which won’t be possible in many areas which means meters will be estimated. This means aftermarket revenue shouldn’t take such a big hit. We will weather this...stay positive!

The move to working remote favors HP in a huge way. They're getting a big boost from laptop and A4 all-in-one MFP's.

Xerox has........well, nothing.

Some workers will go back to the office. But some will look at this situation and decide that they're either just as - or more - productive working at home, which reduces print by a lot, or they'll buy an A4 MFP, which benefits several OEM's, but not Xerox.

And if all that wasn't bad enough, 2021 is rapidly approaching, when Xerox will no longer have an agreement with Fuji to manufacture equipment. Who will fill that gap?

very good post.
More than likely, John V will try to "put lipstick on a pig". There is still some money to be made if you're willing to brutalize your workforce and sever them without what's due.
look at how the employees are being treated during the crisis of their lifetimes. Employees are anxious, some scared for their health and others not coping with this crisis for financial reasons.
Do you hear people getting the protection on the front lines?
Do you hear people expressing confi, dence that Xerox will be there for them?
I don't.

Some employees will weather the storm, but it won't be a nice place to work.
