I see people who have been with GF for years getting cut. But the new hires who are coming in are not nearly as qualified. This is causing a lot of problems for the company and making things more difficult for everyone involved. Sometimes it's necessary to hire two or even three people to replace the one person that was laid off. It would be funny if it wasn't sad.

Blah, blah, blah. Blah blah, blah blah blah. You drones are such pussi-s.
Yea Globalfoundries is doing great man!
No sense in countering these people's arguments... These are the same people that think they're the smartest people in the room, but believe anecdata to be everyone's truth
They didn't just target salary. I know of several cases where low salary qualified people were let go and now the people covering the time are paid triple the original cast and they also hired unqualified grads that make the same as people that were let go and were qualified.
This is how East Fishkill was run. Those IBM managers are now in charge of Globalfoundries. Do not expect new tricks from old dogs.
Talking of clueless management, what happened to that wonderful post about our own TC , which disappeared after only 2 days? Come on Tommy boy, surely as the top guy in the company you should not be offended with a few candid feedbacks from the employees in a public forum about your performance!
GF is targeting cost reduction and people with Higher salary bracket are definitely going to be in target. I am in same bracket. I am one of those antique experienced guys left in my module who is always seen as weird. I could not leave so far due to my personal circumstances but planning to jump out to avoid being cut any time. My team is all new and need my guidance but I know soon it will be my turn to get cut. I prefer leaning on my own terms so that I can plan the next step on my own terms rather than go and look for job as laid off person.
GF is shortsighted. They targeted salaries. Given enough time the inexperienced lower paid people, will become experienced and better compensated. They will grow disillusioned and frustrated as well, and eventually be laid off. It’s a never ending circle.
