Been a quiet quitter my whole career if that means setting boundaries, putting my well-being and time first and recognizing I’m an expense to be managed by executives in finance. Work is a business arrangement-as long as I add value to the company, they will keep me, as long as they provide the money and benefits I find acceptable for my time, I’ll stay. But I expect no love and don’t give it.
I definitely “go above and beyond” during business hours, do my work with a high level of quality, treat coworkers with kindness and genuinely care about our customers, but I’m not putting in more than 40, not working in the evenings, not working on the weekend and not taking on additional responsibilities unless it fits with my schedule and available hours. I’m not going in the office more than 3 days. I’m not enrolling my phone as BYOD.
So not sure if that’s really quiet quitting or just taking care of myself, but I have never bought into hustle culture. I’m an SVP, so seems like what I’m doing is just fine.
@sem+1okTdXLr Yep, and it's these people that edge out the good workers aggressively & take credit for their work. Then they move on to another team, or new people come onto their team who they siphon off, after they ran off the good ones. Managers don't care.

The quit quitters are why the bank is in these garbage “heightened change awareness” events and are constantly suffering the results of poor choices. But just like those turds wait it out it makes it simple for the do-era to look like grand slam champions without even trying

All the messes we are in are due to executive negligence and "good ideas". We earn this company billions, they enrich themselves and throw the rest away with their stupidity.

quietly quit for the last year, felt guilty about that once in a while, but enjoyed the feeling of---then got displaced 2 weeks ago. win win!!
I was soured with WF ever since Charlie took over and made it a sh*tty place to work.
Quiet quit since RTO. Life is much less stressful when you really do not care anymore.
I quit busting my ar-e and ki-ling myself for this company after the shoreview event. The 2 years prior to that I nearly ki-led myself picking up all the slack for the seriously lazy people on the team, working nights & weekends constantly.
Shoreview happened and I worked non-stop for about 2 weeks. I got a "meets" on bonus time and that was the end of me doing anything more than the bare minimum. WF doesn't care about the folks actually doing the work. They want the fat, lazy smooth talkers who drop all the current corp buzzwords (diversity, inclusion, etc.) and don't actually DO a single thing.
I’ve been a quiet quitter for two years now and still outperform the rest of my team.
You want me to take on extra work because I’m so productive? Sorry, too busy is my standard answer.

Been quiet quitting at WF since the early 2000s.
OP, I've always wondered this too.
I'm genuinely glad that other people at other companies take their work seriously. Imagine if you really needed your health insurance company to do something so that you can receive important treatment. Or you call a crisis hotline. Or any of many other examples.
But WF? Most jobs here aren't really needed for the bank to satisfy its customers and shareholders.
Bare minimum from me, mainly because working your rear off will still eventually end up in layoff. And when (not if) that happens, I don't want to look back with deep regret for trying so hard.

Good theory but my boss is totally cool with me WFH and gets our group out of as much corporate BS as possible. CS has centralized authority to the extreme. Want to pay someone 10 cents more per hour? Need OC approval. Want someone to WFH? Need God's approval. Want to give someone a good rating? Shot down by the execs cause you're outside their bell curve.
As a general rule, Directors have very little power over the big issues of the day. They're just rolling corporate BS downhill.

Stop blaming Charlie, Mike, Saul, and Scott as there are plenty of others that should be shouldering blame for the company’s failures. Let’s start with your manager and their manager. Most of them could care less about you or actually being a manager, helping develop talent, and effectively deploying resources.
All these directors and so called managers care about is pushing work down while taking credit for any success and blaming you for any failures. Start holding them accountable because the board, Charlie, and people at that level don’t know you. Start with the people who are riding you.
I'm self motivated, but I still feel the deteriorating effect of the exec's morale ki-ling mission. It's having the desired effect, except I'm not going to quit and let them win. F these clowns.
