Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Where was Bill?

I haven't been attending many Town Hall meetings lately so has Bill been noticeably missing or was this week a new occurrence?

I know it's only been about two and a half years but can we all agree that the Farley years have been and will continue to be a miserable failure?

I wish I could say I had confidence that the Ford family will write this ship but these are the same people that has a history of keeping the wrong people in leadership positions for far too long (see Matt Millen).

When will Bill wake up and realize it's time to cut his losses and find somebody who can actually lead this company.

Elena's mother, Charlotte, wanted to be in Ford leadership but was discouraged from pursuing that goal. By several accounts Charlotte is one of the most vocal of the heirs in Ford family meetings. Elena is fulfilling Mom's dream. If Elena were brilliant this could have turned out well but unfortunately she's not. We got the feeling that she had been taken advantage of on a few occasions over the years.

Mulally wouldnt come back on a bet. Why would he? These days, he has no stress and doesnt have to deal with any of the family buffoons. Although its fun to imagine him having Elena thrown out of WHQ like a common wino.

@1man+1lNz3qeD I go to various plants for my job. The bathrooms are terrible and there is no hot food. Imagine you are a regular worker at the plant and you hear all the news on new buildings, renovations of office buildings ( which haven't been occupied for 2+ years), and also told EV is the way. While the place you work is left in a state of neglect. The bathrooms are from the original build of the buildings they never get upgraded and the food was downgraded during covid so yeah Bill was right to say we will take care of it. Go to the plant and you will see.

Oddly enough, I’m pretty certain Waldo knows Bills whereabouts. Shouldn’t it be the other way around where Waldo’s location is unknown?

Elena Ford wants to be in leadership, really? If anyone knows her past history then be prepared bankruptcy. All of the Fords need to step away from the company and let professionals run the show.

Elena Ford is a loose canon. She may do some good but she had a lot to do with Farley getting CEO. Farley promoted her to VP.

Plant management complained about food and bathrooms at Michigan Assembly at public meeting. From what I heard Farley was brushing off comment and Bill Ford stepped up and said it would be taken care of.

Alexandra is being groomed for CEO. With JF and BF as roll models what could go wrong?

Now that winter is over he will make his way back north in a month or so.
Watch the external hiring, when you see someone like a Glenn Tilton installed as CEO you will know bankruptcy is coming.

BF telegraphs his moves - I.e. all the hiring of political consultant types to push thru Michigan and Federal legislation that A) hampers Tesla’s success B) gives Ford free money (without making it public) - a bailout by another name C) enacts MI legislation to start breaking up the unions. D) gets MI handout for a Chinese battery manufacturing operation. And on and on

So step one was to get govt handouts and change laws so they can pay workers less while trying to impede Tesla’s success.
Step two was to offshore all the work and cut all the US workers in waves, all the while projecting the illusion that they are an American company. Oh yes we are building a plant in Tennessee, but they neglect to say where that free money (subsidy) came from. And we all know it’s just a big show being put on to divert attention from jobs going to Mexico and India.

When the gig is up and the govt tap runs dry, a CEO to take them thru bankruptcy will appear.

Meanwhile Toyota and others iteratively improve their products and continue their dominance. Instead of pre-announcing visions and vapors they quietly perfect and test future products before unveiling them. It does take too many brain cells to see how this will end.

Elena Ford wants to be in Ford leadership and has commented on how other members of the family don't work. She has stated how she knows people who work at all levels for Ford and doesn't want Ford to be sold.

She drove us crazy, has a strange reverence towards all Ford executives, has been accused of not liking women leaders, and of admiring tyrants but in a strange way she may be helping in some way.

Bill has plenty of money from the Lions. The auto business may as well be sold off.

Of course Bill isn’t around. He’s down in Naples on his yacht, golfing, and enjoying life. If Ford goes bankrupt, he hasn’t a care in the world.

Bill is getting tired. Unfortunately there’s no one in the family that has interest. The William Clay branch disenfranchised the Henry Ford II branch (why do you think Henry Ford III bailed and why Edsel played around with PentaAir?). I am convinced the family wants to sell (I don’t care what people think about prestige, at some point you have to cut your losses). Bill was misled. I don’t feel sorry for him because he apparently learned nothing from the Nasser era. He was bamboozled by Fields, Hackett and now Farley with his minion Doug. Probably wanted to sell in 2018-2019 (CFO Tim Stone was brought in for a reason, and when the deal fell through with Bezos his exit was swift). Now that door closed and the only choice is sell at a lesser value or ride it to bankruptcy. Those are the only options. So of course you are not going to see Bill around. Imagine trusting these charlatans and seeing your legacy destroyed in a matter of 10 years. Nothing to celebrate, sh-t Farley made Bill look like a fool with the bathroom incident, and that is the CEO’s job to lay on the tracks if the train will strike the owner.

Bill is alone aside the family misfits Those that are goodie enjoying their trust fund, I would too.

Nobody wants the family job not even Bill. Ford is losing billions they are locked into the feds for taking the money. A once great co is not long to be written into history.

Farley has been at Ford for 15 years and has accomplished nothing that actually benefits the company. Lost market share and customer satisfaction. He needs to be replaced. And Bill Ford. Wasted over a billion dollars on train station renovations, and it is nowhere near finished.
