All these self-righteous employees who come here to attack anybody who dares say something against Chevron need to realize that they're nothing but a number to those on top. They don't care about your loyalty. You will be cut if they deem you to be a too high cost and the only thing that your ambition and 'yes-men' attitude will have gotten you is high blood pressure.

I made it 36 years. Retired. Zero complaints about the Company. You’ve got to make friends to last there. That’s my only 2 cents I can give you.
@1lpp, while I fully respect your position (the vast majority of people within ten years' of retirement do the exact same thing), it is why Chevron has been 'striving for mediocrity' the last 20 years. Since no management wants to try anything new, and employees see that you are paid the same whether you take risks or just punch your time card, Chevron has innovated nothing in that time period (gas from cow manure? who won the Chairman's Award for that one?), and is just aimlessly floating like a cork in the water. Because of this culture, don't expect Chevron to be in any leading role in the green transition. Ironically, this was the exact same culture Texaco had in its last decade of existence.
These comments sound like youngsters growing up and simply learning for the first time about working in the real world for any major corporation. Nothing new. Chevron is not your Daddy. Move along.
Did you get cut and that's why you're reporting this on the layoffs board or do you think this is just the Chevron comments section.
I started off in Chevron many almost 3 decades ago as a starry-eyed, gullible, drinking the koolaid fool. That soon enough wore off as I began to see the falseness of the Chevron Way. For the last 15 years, I don’t believe in loyalty in this workplace. I simply show up to work, do the best job I can while I’m on the payroll and go home. I keep only a few like-minded colleagues as so-called friends, but not confidants. I watch what I say in the workplace and stay clear of potential troublemakers. So far, so good. I’m still here earning good pay and benefits and see my pension growing. I never speak to anyone about my plans to retire in two more years.
Chevron has 'transforned' itself into a curious combination of yes-persons and diversity types all trying to act trendy. Those producing the oil and gas are viewed as expendable, numbers without names.
