If you were offered a job right now with a 20% or 30% lower pay, would you accept it?

Hey @1ktq+19Qrp5Pk You are entitled to your opinion but you know nothing of my circumstances. I was never fired - just laid-off (maybe semantics). Having a relationship with some higher ups has given me some perspective and I have found that I was considered a good worker - just expensive and I didn't fit in well. I have received excellent referrals and always got larger than average bonus. I was easy to let go. I have much experience and many qualifications. Which is why I obtained employment within a month or so . Thanks for the severance!
I would say money is important but who you work for is more important than money. If you are stressed and unhappy, that leads to unhealthy this is more costly than lower pay. After the highest taxes in the world 20-30% less you might bring home the same or little different pay but peace of mind and less stress is true winners.
@1ktq+19Qrp5Pk If you got fired twice in 3 years I’d say that says more about you than it does the company.
Yup. I got the boot Jan27th, Accepted a job in another industry and province for about 10 - 15% less.
This was my second time in three years. Fcuk this place!!!
And the new employer will benefit from the intel we gained from CVE. All win.
Yes, absolutely
20% or 30% may not be that bad depending on the benefits - especially if the people in the new job are nicer. Also, after taxes, it may hardly be noticeable.
I got an offer like that and only way it makes any sense is if you can engineer a way to get a package from Cenovus. Then you could take the lower pay. It’s an option I am looking at. I’m pretty sure it would not be that hard to make waves and get a package.
Yup I would.
Right now I’d do anything to leave this racist industry
Those are the kind of offers I'm getting and I can't decide if it's worth it to trade that much pay for more job security and a better work environment.
