Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Ignoring the issues

They don’t even seem to realize how dissatisfied employees are? Sometimes I get the feeling that leadership is totally detached from reality and that they essentially don’t even know what things look like from the perspective of ordinary employees. Maybe they will look at the issues they are ignoring when they see on paper how many people are leaving. Whoever I talk to, not only do they intend to get out of here, but they are seriously considering it and sending applications to other places.

Because people are scared of losing their jobs if they answer honestly. I have searched for my name on our "Intranet" and seen old surveys with my answers. The myth that they are anonymous is simply that, a myth.

Just curious, do you feel better? I'm sure you weren't raised to be a condescending jerk (boy am I cleaning that up), but maybe I'm wrong. Seems like a you are parroting what a lot of management is saying. So, not sure if you are a manager or simply a sycophantic brown-nose.

I feel like my manager watches HGTV, and good morning America and claims it’s a hobby. Don’t take this a they are a bad person, but I feel like people that have skills, and hobbies are probably more suited for management. Especially in the industry of auto, and home repair where at a level of understanding is needed to maintain businesses relationships. Otherwise I feel like the stupidity around here only encourages soft fraud.

This is just my observation coming from the side that dealt with insurance, and now working in insurance.

Delusional is management not being able to effectively communicate with its workers. Delusional is the divisive education system that put these mo--ns in leadership. Delusional is the all about me policies. Delusional is the breakdown in core family values in leadership. Delusional is not allowing anyone their freedom to speak. And so on.....

Face it almost all the people that are miserable are in claims and predominantly in the hubs. The claims WFH crowd are largely positive. That is far cry from the entire company which gets wrongly and often portrayed on this site. The em-Louie satisfaction index is not “pushed” out to the masses-good or bad. But it is on every management scorecard. And if you think the numbers are skewed to change results you are truly delusional.

@1oni....#1. You must be in mgmt. #2. Funny it tanked an was never passed onto the workers. #3. What did they do to improve? Not much. #4. Anyone knows a.) How those surveys are written to skew numbers and results. b.) Workers fear those surveys for retaliation.

I’m sure there are people not happy, many come to this site to be indicate as much. But one of the things that impacts management incentive is employee satisfaction, and it is the highest it’s been in over 5 years (tanked in 2016). So, just be aware not everyone is as unhappy as you or the people you talk to.

And all the while the Company is having one of its best runs in its 100 year history. Maybe your hopes will come true and it will fail-but not today or tomorrow or next year…….

It's too funny for me. What the id--ts have built is not sustainable. No one will want to work or stay employed by a company that treats its employees as "human capital" or and expense instead of a treasured asset. Typical of "educated" accountants that cannot tell the difference between an asset, a liability, and equity. Just like any pencil neck who does not understand what sweat equity is. A bunch of people who stand on a golf course, lie about their score, think their tough dudes, and never put a days of real work in. It's not to far in the future, they'll figure out how smart they are when their plug is pulled. Forest Gump: Stupid is as stupid does.

They are running SF like a high school or d-mb college campus with arrogant leadership, terrible grading snd terrible systems and rules and structure and HR that lack integrity (3rd parties too)

Like state and government departments. A mess and no help. Systematic and procedural mess for customers and employees.

Tracking and “grading” and acting like experts and “coaches” who are not but make lots Lots more than they should cause of ridiculous titles & levels. Micromanagement copied system.

(Unprofessional) and not good business as it’s too lax to be safe for smart customers or employees.

Systematic and procedural exploitation. Letting 3rd parties take over Management with conflict of interests was a huge mistake.

A shame. Maybe a top insurer but money amd clout and image are insurance industry and lotsa unethical things at Farm.

My peers in ET are leaving or thinking about it. Climate is not ideal and not safe to have dissenting opinions.

The Phx/Tempe hub is conveniently located across the street from the ASU campus. There is an unlimited supply of potential employees happy to make 20 bucks an hour. Easy come, easy go. That is why they don't care. At least in PHX, anyway.

They don't and never have. Read on. It's who you schmooze with. Do you fit in? Are you related to? ETC. Their dirty secrets run deep. I am grateful to the younger generation who will not put up with it. Saying Thank You BUT No Thank You speaks volumes. Treat them with the same kindness and politics they shove down your throat. They know their wrong. It's just a matter of time.
