Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Do you see yourself working at the Farm next year?

I don't!

It’s a good place only for those who have never worked for any other company so they can’t make a comparison. It's only bearable here for those who don't care about growing their careers. I hope to get another chance by the end of the year. Almost all my colleagues are looking for a new job because no one feels like staying in a company where everything is getting worse.

Do you have to be obese to work at SF? Based on first hand observation sure seems like a requirement.

Start looking for a new job as soon as they mandate the jab. I'll let them fire me. State Farm will keep moving in with or without me who cares. I care about my own integrity and self respect. People are already suing over this OSHA Emergency temporary standard anyways, by the time it's ruled unconstitutional or not the damage will already be done. It will only bully the weak into getting the jab. We work with so many fat and obese people that should be more worried about getting exercise and having healthy eating habits to be more resilient from things that will likely lead to death. Things that can be a preventable to a certain extent. Diabetes, coronary heart disease, hyper tension, strokes, mental illness (su----e) come to mind. Yes be worried if you'll are part of the at risk group, but dont be d-mb, you were at the same level of risk for many other illnesses/diseases than just covid because of your lifestyle.

Heck yes, I only have 28 and a half years left in claims to get my full pension benefit, then it’s easy street for me.

Actually, if you get fired you are not eligible for unemployment. Layoff yes, termination no.

I'm hanging on out of spite at this point. I'm vested and just want to get that retirement. If they want me out they'll have to fire me and pay me unemployment while I slooooowly look for a new job.

A little birdie told me that Country Companies is offering some large bonuses for experienced claim reps to come work for them. Can anyone confirm or deny that?

@2htp - Of course my bonus is well deserved. There is no need to state the obvious. As for vaccination policy I do not take orders from you. If I had wanted your input I would have solicited it. Just continue doing your job and leave the deep thinking to me. I will set vaccination policy as I please, within the bounds of state laws and regulations, of course.

Hey MT @1dix you better allow all exemptions (including conscientious objection) shall (not may) be approved when the government order comes down which will allow for testing. Otherwise you're doing a great job and enjoy your well earned bonus.

I’m taking my time as I don’t want to wind up in a similar position. I’m tired of getting blamed for others mistakes, and doing peoples jobs for them. Working 6 days in a row mandated in a cr-p ho-e in the middle of a cornfield.

I wasn’t in my right mind when taking this job, I was pretty desperate. This place is a sm--k in the gut every morning, and whiff of anxiety the night before on what accusations from agents, or plain entitlement from customers I’ll have to defend myself from.

I’m the shell of a the energy and person I used to be, I’m not destroying myself over of all people the types to even cause or file a claim in the first place.

First, you will refer to me as Michael or Mr. Tipsord, not Tippy. I most definitely will be working at State Farm next year. It is a fantastic company where everyone treats me with the utmost respect. My ideas and opinions are met with vigorous head nodding, or sometimes hushed reverence and awe. Plus my compensation sharply increased last year. Life is great!

Stick it out to get the bonus if you can. Can't sleep is correct and yes claims is destroying your health, mentally and physically. Tippy said he didn't want people to live in fear for their jobs, but he wanted them to feel the need to "compete for the opportunity to work for the company." Sounds like fearing for your job. If there is karma, these people are in trouble.

Trying to look now to get out asap. If not I'll bounce for sure by next year after the bonus is paid out.

I just receive an offer today, I was really nervous about leaving, but I’m getting hammered on both ends my manager and agents. It like they don’t care anymore. I hope for the best for my fellow team. Best of luck. I’m putting my notice in tomorrow.

SF employees are right where they want them. They are in fear of management. No job is worth being in fear. It's why employees won't post on this site. Remember they have issues and fail miserably to admit it. No man is better than another.

I am gone April 1st ! I could leave Jan 10 and vacation out but claims is the only department that is restricted to 6 weeks in vacationing out. This place is a complete joke and I would encourage everyone look for another career. This was once a great job and and great company…..not anymore!

I don’t know how I’ll survive here until next year. Can’t sleep at night, have anxiety, feel like I might throw up as I get ready to work and more directly because of this job. My mind and body are telling me that this claims job is ki----g me.

I implore anyone who is not close to 55 to get out. An executive addressing the issue of injury claim employees leaving en mass for our competitors for more money, lower inventories, regular business hours, no weekends and no holidays as being short-sighted. What in the world is wrong with these people? They act like this is temporary and not an ongoing issue since the mid-nineties.
