Any guesses where the new campus might be? I saw a nice big empty looking lot between Richmond and Alabama and BS and Edloe on Google Maps satellite.

Not holding my breath. We were this close from moving to the last building and look what happened.
I may be imagining things, but I thought I heard the big empty lot just north of the office. Like, you can see it from Greenway. It’s right there. See. No, not there, right there.

Oxy likes to be thought of as a Houston company, not a Woodlands or Conroe company. It may move out to the Beltway or energy corridor.
I like to worry and speculate about things that are 5+ years away.
Wishful thinking it would be between The Woodlands & Greenway and not just Greenway. Maybe meeting in the middle?! So those who live in Conroe or Willis don’t have to commute over an hour to work?
There are other takeover targets out there? What’s a little more debt.
If the new campus is happening four years from now then it is likely being built from scratch. It may also include space for the company when it really grows with another major acquisition.

Who mentioned return to office 5/week or getting rid of hybrid? Is that just a guess based off the new office?
@2osk+1q3PYg9C - I don't think Oxy could get everyone back into the office like it was pre-covid. The amount of backlash from the employees would be tremendous at this point. Many have proved they can do there job just fine being in the office three days a week. Whether that is good or bad is not really the debate. Everyone in my group does such a good job working from home Monday and Friday it is hard to convince them they would do any better sitting in an office. My team is made up of employees in their mid to high thirties up to 60 plus. Everyone does a great job as is. Sure, if told we would all come back, but I think the productivity would actually go down after being home all days to two days a week. As it is the work balance in the office is perfect for many of us. I bet if you told people to choose working at Greenway and other offices three days a week, or coming to some upscale office 4-5 times a week, the majority would say three days a week at the current offices. The three day a week in the office is too set now.

It might be a while off, but now that the cat is out of the bag people need to know more. If we are really moving, and people will all be consolidated at the same office it would be nice to know if buying a home or looking to buy closer to Greenway. There will be a lot of people not loving the office move from The Woodlands to the Greenway area. It is one thing to go to Greenway every now and then, but daily it is a tough commute. Why build a building when we only go in the office three days a week?
Maybe going forward they will have employees report to the office four days a week. It is time to get back to work at full speed.
Hope it's right next to a freeway entrance and exit like it is now, which is perfect. Would hate having to drive further on potentially flooded streets to get to the freeway. Many also don't care one bit to have mediocre resturants around the building we travel half way across the city to eat at the best location even if that same chain has a location 5 minutes away from where they live. High-quality food is important for good health, not the convenience. Home is where smart, conscientious people prepare most of the food they enjoy eating, including coffee. This is just one reason why wfh is so important to so many and is possible in areas forcibly being told it's not.
Another opportunity to make money on real estate. Like the ConocoPhillips property they bought and then sold.

5 acres doesn’t seem to be big enough unless it has 20 floors and parking underground.
