Good job for the reporter monitoring for leads then confirming and going to print.
Good luck for those who stuck around. Wish nothing but the best for my colleagues. I loved my time at Macys tech in Lorain. Great, dedicated and hardworking group of people who did so much with so little. Too bad corporate thought differently.
Very good news ...

I also can confirm the email from CTO that Macy’s will be canceling the lease for the midtown Atlanta office. John’s Creek Main and annex buildings will remain, they are exiting the court building when the lease is up at the end of the year. All Macy’s tech in Atlanta will be in Main and annex buildings. I bet they are wishing they did not close the Ohio locations, they were Company owned, cost almost nothing to operate and salaries were lower compared to other locations (NY, ATL).

To the person who mentioned the email from the CTO - if this is true, please paste the verbiage here!!!!!
Email was sent out from the CTO. They are also closing temp WeWork in Atlanta. It’s not a rumor it’s confirmed from the top

Just two months ago there were 500+ jobs due to the closing of SF... I'm sure MTech has hired all 500... NOT.
They do keep upping the number of h1b filings though..
Perhaps jobs have been filled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a ridiculous assumption.
I cant find anything in the local media yet, but a check on Macy's jobs shows only 3 openings within a 25 mile radius of my house which includes mid-town Atlanta, and they're all in John's Creek. If they were moving ahead with the Mid-town center you would think they would have some openings advertised there. So it is at least circumstantial evidence the original rumor is true.
Local politicians will be embarrassed by this and it is an election year, so the media may cover it up for a few months. The AJC is owned by Cox communications and not real good about covering business stories like this. Atlanta Business Chronicle only updates stories that put the town in a positive light as it is a Chamber of Commerce type of outfit.
Are they getting rid of the MTech office building in Johns Creek?
Where r u getting this? I do t see it anywhere. Can you share the link.
Yes this is in Atlanta.
Q: is this in Atlanta? Thanks.
