Thread regarding Frontier Communications Corp. layoffs

So what happens 4/16 if no deal is made?

Does FTR say don’t come to work you’re locked out? Do we still come to work and do BAU? A lot of questions the dam Union hasn’t answered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a stall tactic by FTR and IBEW has nothing to lose because too many of their members can’t afford to miss a paycheck. Win win.

How many times are they going to extend? They keep playing games and the union thinks they’re gaining!

Just prior to this award, in March 2020, Frontier announced plans to postpone pension contributions totaling $153 million using provisions of the CARES Act signed by former President Donald Trump. At that time, the WSWS noted that the pension was already underfunded by nearly a billion dollars. This was compounding retirement problems for Frontier workers, who also received a hit on their 401k plans which came in the form of Frontier shares.

You no longer have the protection of your worthless contract. The union thanks you for fattening their pockets with the dues you paid all of those years. Good luck finding another job maybe I'll see you in the drive-thru at McDonald's.

If you young bucks dont see the pattern you will be deer caught in headlights if you dont start educating yourself to make moves that will further your career. Stop blaming the union or the company. If your not ahead of the curve you will fall off the cliff.

Based on that email Melanie sent out it looks like the company has no real answers on how to run a stable company without letting employees suffer. Union reps are just looking for a stable wage. Maybe they should cut upper management and get fresh new people who know how to run a company without government we—e.

Why are they fighting for retiree medical and 401k. How about lose the retiree medical and bring back the free medical for active employees

Nailed it and left as a w2 20yrs ago and crossed the line to a 1099. Always had the latest test equipment, good management and had access to a wealth of knowledge. Plus made.twice the money and only had to work 6months out of the year. I called it 21yrs ago. Stewards couldn't stand I was teaching the young bucks as to who had ties with upper management while serving in the union. Knowledge is power. Ole DINO from the flintstones

We got an email from Melanie Williams today where she talked about the state of Frontier. I guarantee that the Union agrees to anything that is presented at this point. She mentioned the Friday deadline and I don’t think she has any intentions of budging.

Frontier’s bankruptcy plan will give four investment firms — Elliott Management, Franklin Mutual, Golden Tree Asset Management, and HG Vora, effective control over Frontier. The four are reportedly behind the decision to install Jeffery as Frontier’s new CEO to protect their financial interests.

Unity is a company the our fearless CEO (he wasnt a CEO at that point but was a board member) started as a shell company to hide assets for a bankruptcy he and Elliot MGT orchestrated. The CEO of Unity and the CFO of WS are brothers and in bed with the CEO of WS. The idea is to follow what CLINK did and split the company into a copper company, fiber company, and a software company. They will merger Frontier ILEC and WS ILEC all while letting the copper side d-e on the vine or sell for whatever they can get for it...WS is closing over 600 sites in the coming months. This is when the cuts will be deep for both our companies

It's the final week. From what I've been told the Company and the Union are scheduled to meet every day this week and work with a mediator during these meetings. Apparently the Company has not budged on most of their initial proposals where as the Union has pulled some of their proposals in an attempt to jump start the negotiations. When asked what proposals where pulled by the Union all I got was static.

As someone said earlier - the Company can do what they want!

Union has no leverage, they know it, you know it... you make wise decisions not some lame id--ts, for example, "union reps". Common these union reps are lame id--ts that are not as smart as your "average" techs, that is why they became union reps. Too stupid to know tip/ring, your union rep guy/gal that can't find a cross in a church. we all know that person. Too bad, that annuity will out live some of the guys/gals. The company will keep the rest. Good luck to people falling in line with the union cr-p....losers..

Arent you proud you paid those dues now to be in this situation with no answer and poor communication? This is the same excuses the union accuses frontier leadership of and now its come full circle. What a pathetic organization undeserving of laborers hard earned money.
