Sears's For The Win
Just another example of how Lampert managed to destroy massive amounts of value while buying high and selling low. Buffet's happy since he's been skimming shareholder value this whole time.
@1ioy+1jrmLCNh it is "Sears" not "Sear's."
Transformco has allowed Cinch (Formerly Cross Country) to destroy any remaining credibility of the name ‘Sears’ through its fraudulent ‘Sears Home Warranty’
@1tzt. You're absolutely correct. Seritage has nothing to do with the Sears name. Seritage is a real estate company, not a retail company.
With almost all the assets stripped away and the name's reputation in the toilet, why would anyone want to buy Sears? Nostalgia for us older folk? Plenty of newer companies have filled in all the retail and service gaps that Sears/Kmart filled once upon a time.
No but the failure of Seritage will impact Eddie's cash flow which has been used to keep the Sears and KMart charade going.
Seritage is a real estate company. It does not own the Sears trademark or any other trademarks.
Doesn't appear from the article that purchasing the Sear's name has generated any interest. I'm not at all surprised.
I knew he stepped down from Seritage. I didn't know they owed that much money to Buffet. My god Eddie is the worst. I stand by what I said, they will stay open through Christmas and after that they will close and sell off the rest of the assets.
Maybe one day someone can realize what Sears can be and start anew by buying the name again. This is so so sad, a company that has been around forever Eddie destroyed.
