Should I be worried?

If I know my store is reopening and I haven't been called back yet, should I be worried?

We reopened May 4th and have been pleasantly surprised on how busy we are with sales. We had a lot of returns the first week and that's slowed down to normal now. Some people returning are reordering correct sizes. People are happy to be out, shopping, and spending again. I've opened 19 credit accounts since May 4!

Yes if you get a severance package you can apply for unemployment. But it depends on your states rules as to when you qualify to be paid unemployment. You have to declare severance payment(s) in our state.

For the stores that have reopened, are there any customers coming in to shop? Or is it mostly online orders and returns?

We brought back some of our best, longest term and assuming highest paid associates in both sales and back of house when we reopened last week. You start with asking your best to come back first, and if they say no, you work your way down the list with second, third, fourth, etc., choices until you get a roster of who's needed to reopen for Phase I. Phase 2 is weeks to months away, we have no idea when that will be. No one knows.

It has nothing to do with seniority. It has everything to do with your worth to Macy's.
Are you dependable? Can you adjust to change? Are you good with customers. What was your review like?

Why would someone want to go back to a failing company? just look for a new job, Macys' is just a store, it's not like you all are working for NASA

I would say dont worry yet. They are bringing back minimal people to get started. Similar situations in the corp offices

Youre likely collecting more with unemployment than working. So I wouldnt worry. Now if phase 2 brings back most and you still have not heard anything that might be cause for concern.

Also, stores are probably looking to keep operating expenses down. Wouldn't it cost them less to leave some FT employees on higher pay on the sidelines for phase 1?

I thought seniority would matter for this process and I hope to be recalled for phase 2
