For Ginny, no matter how much she’d like to change her past, her legacy will be having run IBM into the ground…maybe the millions of $$$ she made will be comfort to her since it’s too late to change her legacy no matter how many books she writes trying to change the narrative

non-GAAP tricks

"non-GAAP" translates to "GUAP" meaning "Generally Unacceptable Accounting Principles"

Q4 is always a budget-cutting period where every attempt is made to RA, freeze travel and hiring, reduce 3rd party expenditures, etc. The only innovation at IBM is in the finance department and they're desperately trying to improve year-end numbers ... which, like all other quarters, are always fudged with non-GAAP tricks.

IBM desperately needs an outside perspective with its next CEO to make execution job 1.

That's what we need, what we'll get is RT.

@1ika+1p5bYakN I have almost all those skills except for COBOL. I wouldn't go anywhere near IBM though, since they offer lowest $$$ for talent. PEACE !!!

As with all things IBM “it depends” If you have skills IBM needs, (mainframe, cobol, LINUX, security, etc etc) then no there isn’t a hiring freeze. NOTE these skills are very very hard to replace due to demographics (mostly an aging workforce). If you have skills in non-strategic yet money making endeavors then yes there is a hiring freeze. If you have skills in non-strategic and low IBM profit making endeavors, then you are looking at RA, PIP, or spinoff. IBM management continues to muddle along and refuses to address the elephant in the room (overstaffing, excessive management, and a clear strategic objective of what IBM wants to be when it’s restructuring is completed). This is typical legacy IBM management, efficiency takes a back seat to muddling along. IBM desperately needs an outside perspective with its next CEO to make execution job 1. Here’s a thought Hire an outside president, and put them in charge of execution/restructuring. If they succeed, they can replace AK when he retires.
