Thread regarding Belk layoffs

What are the "key stores" or the "top 25" stores?

does anyone else know this? what will happen to the other 275 stores?
can someone provide a list of the top 25?

"Now, some of you have been predicting the demise of Belk for two years now. And yet she still struggles on like a broken, drunk, dirty lady of the night staggering down the back alleys of the South."

I will predict the demise of Lisa Harper, Don Hendricks, Nir Patel, Jacob Hawkins, and Leslie Riggs, all will be sharing a prison cell together. Hendricks will be the one who drops the soap in the shower and he will be squealing like Ned Beatty in "Deliverance"

@1hze, it makes sense to focus on top performers, but 25? Is it enough profit to take care of business expenses? 300 stores or 25- there still need for warehouse, logistics, accounting department to do payroll, buyers, something else. Top management expect their millions in bonuses. How 25 stores can pull it all?

The 25 focus stores is not a new strategy it has been around for many years. The stores are not necessarily top performers. The regional managers have input on this market strategy. Don't worry, it is a good thing.

Some of THE most profitable stores are small B & C locations.

Some of the least profitable, money losers in fact, are the big A store and flagships.

No way, no how, a fragment of the chain stays open. That strategy has, as many have pointed out, not worked for any other retailer. Not now, not in the past either.
