Courts ruled in UP favor in their attempt to tear down Palestine location. Word I’m hearing from my HQ source is Palestine is just the first of MANY locations to be shutdown permanently in a 2 year period. As of September 6, 2024 the Texas Supreme Court has DENIED the petition for review filed by Anderson County and the City of Palestine.
UP keeps sending upper management down telling us that we are doing TOO MUCH WORK on these cars. Do bare minimum and get them out. UP is taking equipment that we use to fix rail cars. UP has pretty much shut down our RIP Track which repairs unsafe cars that pass through our county and town. David will win...

The motion for rehearing filed by the county has been overruled dated March 18th. Now the county will file an appeal with the Texas Supreme Court.
They cut the Palestine carmen overtime so they can't help with train work events. Its just a matter of time.

@1hwb They can't bulldozer anything with the municipality approval in which they reside. That's actual law by the way. Plus inspections have to be performed to make sure there are no toxic materials that could be introduced into the environment through demolition. Vena can't just show up with demolition equipment and start tearing things downs because he doesn't want it there. That's not how it works, except maybe in your world. You did forget to mention about the government pushing back after you claim Vena told them to go "blank themselves". You really should check it out. The government is watching him closely and they're waiting for him to slip up. The rest of us are facing reality, but you sound like you're the one living in LA LA land. Vena CANNOT do whatever he wants. He's only the CEO. He's not the president of the company and he doesn't control the board. You need to read up about what Vena can actually do. It's not nearly as much as you think it is.

They're not bulldozing sh1t without an appeal! The Palestine fight isn't over yet, so don't assume it is. Please tell the rest of us how the bulldozer scenario can be verified. The bulldozer posts have been removed because NONE of them could be verified and were factually untrue, AKA a lie! You obviously have a bulldozer fetish, and to some that's okay I guess. When you talk about bulldozing many locations like the PNW, or somewhere else on the west coast without facts, then it might be beneficial for you to understand how many peoples lives it would affect. Yes, the courts ruled in favor of UP, but county has filed for rehearing and then they will go to Texas Supreme Court next I am sure. Either way I think they are sc--wed and it’s going to be closed down. Nothing can happen though until all appeals are done.
