Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Increased work

Can you please compare how much more overwhelmed you are compared to last year, and compared to before the pandemic?

I can't take this anymore, I have a feeling I'm working like a robot. I have twice as much work as I had last year. This is not normal. I'm getting out of here at the first opportunity.

The Canadian branch replaced the Canadian-born workers with foreign temporary workers who share a bed together with ten other temporary workers inside the basement furnace.

They are rumoured to get paid in cash and are paid below minimum wage via a numbered Ontario corporation acting as the foreign agency.

Good for separated employees but bad for those left. Work flows downstream to those left which only adds to an already overworked staff. I have numerous job responsibilities which includes baby sitting HCL. No pay increase for 5-6 years, inflation continues, and there is no possible upward or lateral job change. I am pigeon holed due to my system knowledge. Bad idea to empty St. John and Halifax and drop it all on HCL. HCL never caught onto anything, they have no vested interest and they have a high rater of employee turnover. It is a revolving door of continued training and correcting their errors. Such a sad state. Management is lost.

When I left I was doing the job of 3 people AND picking up the slack to a direct report to a C level exec who felt she was my boss as well but played victim so well. When I finally spoke up about the workload and stress severely affecting my health with proof, I was next in line for layoffs. This company only wants work robots or work horses. A former colleague was doing 3 jobs for the price of one, never reported OT but just when she was about to quit applied for another role and got it miraculously. Mind you, she has NO college education and I was the one who showed her Microsoft applications because she completely lied on her resume about her former experience. But THESE are the employees chosen over me? I'm GLAD I'm gone.

Me too...I cannot take babysitting offshore anymore...they leave left and right and workloads changing more than the weather....I never get told people are leaving, on vacation, out sick.....nobody is overseeing anyone offshore......all the people I spent almost 3 years training are all gone and the bottom of the barrel applicants who would not have been hire 3 years ago are taking their place....I used to get stressed and bust my a-s...that stopped this summer...I now do what I can get done during the work day and if something doesn't get done, then oh well....don't care.....nobody else does so why should I......Been job hunting for over a month now but won't settle, not leaving one sh---y job for another.....just gotta keep looking!!

I’m doing the work of about seven people. Between babysitting offshore and fixing their mistakes, I really am not able to do the job I was originally hired to do. It’s about putting out fires as fast as possible. No longer quality work, but quantity.

10 fold. I was freaking out till I realized the best thing they can do is fire me.

So now I do the minimal and let the fire burn on. X will hire folks I'd they want metrics hit. I'm done breaking my back while senior officers get bonuses.
