Who needs employees? Just have Kearney consultants do everything.

What use is it to cut at the bone at this point? The heart was attacked several years ago and completely removed in the past year or so. Without the heart the rest is slowing dying off.

There's those regional reporters that can be cut.

If you want to re-engage employees, why not try hiring some of them back? Or try to.

I’ve been retired for a number of years. My choice. And have been invited to a number of 3M events recently (last year or so) and I am so surprised at how conversations at these events have changed. I recall technical folks getting together at these events and sharing new research, sharing project challenges, recruiting help from other groups, etc. Now it is just a bunch of small group discussion about how bad it is, how fellow employees are being treated, who is being let go, and just a b—-ch session. Not that I blame the employees, but what a waste of an opportunity that management does not seem to see. Let’s get done with this layoff cr-p and see what you can do to get employees re-engaged. If not, 3M has a very bleak, and probably short future.

Only 3M's terrible leadership is deluded enough to think that a 3 to 5% US GDP growth rate is a 'rougher business environment'.

3M should be taking market share hand-over-fist in this macroeconomic environment. (somewhat constrained labor market, steady but not stellar economic growth) 3M leadership's failure to do so is exhibit #678945 why Mr. Roman and his team should be sacked immediately.

Unfortunately this is the only cost saving tricks that the senior leaders SVPs VPs Directors know. Cut at all costs!

Have said this during various rounds of redundancies, you can't save your way to success. The more you cut, the worse the workforce is demoralised, the more the pressure is to deliver at the same level. Something has to give!!

The factories are being directed for more shutdown days to conserve energy savings. And of course to burn employees vacation leave. This is the stage where 3M is now... cutting down to bare bones.

There is no more fat to cut. We are now cutting into the bone and it really hurts. Every time things get worse and the stock falls my manager puts more pressure on us and increases the belittling, harassment and outbursts. What is left of my team is trying to leave. Our division cannot afford to lose more people.

$75 by earnings call announcement on 10/24. Beware when M&M opens their mouth.
