Dealing with a toxic workplace

Is leaving this place and finding a job in a less toxic workplace the only way for an employee to successfully deal with this unhealthy work environment,,,or maybe there is some way to successfully deal with all this and preserve one's own mental health here?

When the really good senior leaders who actually have a Visio start leaving the company you can see the flashing red alarm bells.

It will not change so you need to decide if you are getting something from the role. If not, you are better off cutting ties and moving on. It will not change for you and you should not hold your breath that things will change for you.

The creative thinkers and top 10% have already left as the grass is much greener elsewhere!!

Talk to your supervisor. If they're the problem then talk to their manager. If they do nothing talk to HR. If you're still not getting anywhere submit your concerns to the integrity helpline or go there directly if there are any code of conduct violations. It might sound like a long road but each step you take will be in the right direction. Otherwise, jump ship and find greener pastures elsewhere. Simple as that.

Pretend you are not smarter than your legacy Husky leader, hide your education and credentials. Your legacy Husky leader is insecure because of his/hers lack of education and credentials.

It probably won’t change, it’s the Husky culture that prevails. If your leader is Husky, you can guarantee yourself a package if you question things, send direct emails to their superior, ask more questions, suggest improvements. They won’t like it and get rid of you. Take the money and run! I know of many of my colleagues that are no longer here because they lived the Cenovus culture and their Husky leaders didn’t like it.
If you want to stay, just be quiet and learn to live with it - your Husky peers can teach you how as they’ve been living this for years!
I’m working on option 1.

I can tell you if it’s a toxic manager it won’t get fixed. HR will just “work with them” meaning they’re not going anywhere but you might.

I left and after hearing how things have only gotten worse from my friends there, I have no regrets. Whatever you choose, best of luck!
